Author's POVThe ambulance sirens came through the afternoon air as two vehicles raced toward St. Mary's Medical Center.Inside the first ambulance, Nicole lay strapped to a gurney. Her face was covered in blood and her clothes soaked through with it.A paramedic worked frantically beside her, pressing gauze against a gash on her forehead."BP is dropping. 90 over 60." Another paramedic called out."Stay with me, please." The first one said, even though her eyes were closed.
