Nicole's POV Brad pulled me up from the couch, as that was where I decided to sit for a while. His hands were firm and possessive on my waist like he couldn't get enough of touching me. Like he was afraid if he stopped, I might disappear. "Where are we going?" I asked breathlessly. My voice came out shaky. My legs felt weak but I followed him anyway. Trusted him completely. He didn't answer, he just led me down the hallway. Past the bedroom and the bathroom, until we were standing in his study. "Here?" I looked around at the desk, the bookshelf and at the large window overlooking the space. "Here." He confirmed. And then his lips were on mine again. The kiss was hungrier this time, although less gentle and more demanding. Like he was claiming me all over again. He lifted me onto the desk and papers slightly scattered.

Brad's POVThe moment Nicole's phone rang and she let me know that it was Detective Joe that was calling, I knew something was coming but I couldn't wrap my head around it yet .I watched her face as she answered and the way her expression shifted from calm to tense in the space of a single breath.She placed the phone to her ear.
