The mist remained thick around me, so thick that I could barely see beyond a few feet in front of me. I stood frozen, my heart pounding so loudly that I could almost hear it echoing through the strange space. I didn't understand where I was or how I had gotten there. One moment I had been standing in my bedroom, and the next, everything I knew had disappeared, replaced by this endless, silver space that seemed to have no walls, no ceiling and no visible end. Then I saw movement. At first, it was nothing more than a shadow moving through the mist. I narrowed my eyes, trying desperately to make out the figure. My heart began beating even faster as the person continued walking toward me, one slow step after another. There was something familiar about the way he walked. Something I knew.
