The anger gave way to something heavier — weariness.I exhaled slowly and stepped closer, careful this time. When she didn’t pull away, I guided her back toward the bed. She sat without protest, staring blankly at the floor like she’d run out of strength to keep herself upright.“Just breathe,” I murmured. “That’s all.”She did — shallow at first, then slower, uneven but steady. I sat beside her, close enough to feel her warmth, not touching, just there. After a while, her shoulders began to relax, the tension easing inch by inch.I reached out then, cautiously, and brushed her hair back from her face. She flinched, just slightly, then leaned into the touch before she could stop herself.That was all it took.She folded into me, her head resting against my chest, her body still trembling
