The thoughts of what had happened earlier did not seem to leave Adrian’s mind. He thought of what to do, but he constantly figured nothing out. He didn’t know what to do at that point. He thought of calling off the merger, then he thought of the implication it will have on the company. He was confused, but he knew he couldn't afford to lose his investors. Every one of the shares these investors bought built the company to where it is.Lost in thought, he didn’t know when Cassie entered. She had called his name multiple times. She touched him and he jolted back to reality. Adrian was still upset about what had happened at the Get-together, how she conveniently was smiling with a man. Adrian is the jealous type, he already had it in mind that it was an issue of cheating. Cassandra however is consistent in trying to convince him, he knows Adrian is her ticket to the kind of life she always dreamt of and how losing him equals to losing a good portion of her dream. “Why are you not talkin

Serena's phone constantly vibrated at intervals. It was lying next to her, lighting up with the same caller; Damien, he called repeatedly. The light from her phone screen pierced through the mist of her tears. Serena was lying on the floor next to the bed, her knees hugged, hair down, and her eyes red and swollen from crying. The atmosphere in her room was extremely tense, and she seemed to be deafened by the silence that had trapped her. Moreover, she was already convinced of his reason for calling. So, there was really no point in checking. The scandal had gone viral; he must have seen it too.Just a text that was extremely harmless and carried no weight or conversational relevance was being streamed all over the internet world, digital spaces, and different platforms. It really was a very brutal thing to do. And at the same time, it was also extremely degrading. Her phone buzzed one more time. She was still observing it and biting her lip. On one hand, if she picked up the call, s

The dining was transformed for lunch, consisting of a long table with white linen, silver cutlery, and the sunlight coming in through the windows of glass, lighting the plates of grilled fish, roasted vegetables, and a dish that was slightly spiced with rosemary. His mom was pouring wine for them just as they were about to sit, and she said, with a light voice, “Well, what do you think of the company? I heard that the meeting with the investors was not a problem.”Damien said, “It was great.” “Marcus did most of it, even if he was in New York. He got back a few days ago.”“Oh, Marcus,” she said, with fondness in her tone. “That boy is working hard for this? Hearing he is doing a great job is expected, nothing less of him.”“You are starting to sound like him.” Damien said and laughed. His father cleared his throat softly, put down his glass and said, “And you, son? Are you managing? You seem to me exhausted.”“Nothing unusual,” Damien responded, brushing it off.His mother leaned forw

The thing about the earth was that it was very rude and disrespectful. Its nonchalance game was on a level one could hardly replicate, were humans destroying the eco system? It somehow managed to keep on moving. Were people killing and bombing themselves? The bastard kept on rotating and it was that disrespect that Cassandra couldn’t comprehend. She was throwing everything and defending everything to keep her prospective family intact and the world for a second couldn’t stop to acknowledge her? Not to even give her a nudge for doing a good job?Bullocks.Cassie stopped immediately and caught her reflection on the wall. It was almost a taboo to her not to acknowledge the beauty that was her whenever she found a mirror. It was there that her assistant, Lorelai found her. She was adjusting the neck of her collar and checking the bag on her shoulder for the millionth time.“I’m sorry I’m late, there was a whole lot that had to happen and it sort of derailed me, the mobility around here

The evenings were usually the perfect time for things to fall into place, it was then that people retired from work and made it to their expensive abode that never really felt like home, at least for those on this side of town. Less important staff trouped out and the more important ones gathered because that same day, scandals had started and as usual, it was all tied to Serena Stone’s name and at this point, everybody was wondering if it was a good thing that she was Involved in the company again. It was not news that she had helped Hales build his company but maybe she had her loyalty tied there. It would probably be a conflict for her and also be why she probably kept doing controversial things. Like now for instance, the headlines all through the day had been a frightening revelation that Serena Stone was giving confidence information about the merger between Stone and a smaller organization to Hales. There were even several documents and of course, the text she had sent to con
