Drake’s POVThat blurry picture was sitting in my phone like a loaded weapon. One wrong move, one curious eye, and everything I had built would collapse. I poured a glass of whiskey, but even that did not steady my hands. My reflection stared back from the window — tired, older, guilty. The image of Chloe would not leave my head. The way she looked at me the last time I touched her, soft and trusting, like she believed I could protect her from the world. Now, that same world was about to eat her alive. I knew how vicious the press could be, and I also knew Margaret’s reach. Once she saw that picture, she would not stop until she burned everything connected to me.My phone buzzed again. Marcus. I answered before the second ring.“She saw it,” he said.My throat went dry. “Margaret?”“Yes. She found the link before we could pull it down. She’s furious. She called the head of the Public Relations department already.”“Handle it quietly,” I said. “I do not want this reaching the boardroom

Chloe’s POVIt had been a week.Seven long days since I last saw Drake.Seven days since I collapsed on the floor and woke up with a private doctor standing over me, checking my pulse and shining a light into my eyes. Seven days since Mrs. Grace sat beside my bed, holding my hand and telling me to rest. Seven days since I was told that Drake knew what had happened. And yet, he did not come. That was what hurt the most. Not the rumors. Not the guards. Not the locked gates. It was the fact that he knew I had passed out. He knew I had been treated. And still, he did not come.At first, I was angry in a quiet way. I paced the room. I replayed everything in my head. I told myself he was busy. I told myself he was handling something important. I told myself he would walk through the door any moment, irritated and tired, but still mine.I waited.Morning came and went. Afternoon turned into night. I slept with my phone in my hand, the screen lighting up my face every few minutes as I checked

Chloe’s POVSomeone knew.Someone knew where I was. Someone knew my secrets.I slowly set the phone down on the bed, as if touching it again might make the voice come back. My palms were sweaty. My stomach churned, sharp and sour. I rushed to the bathroom and threw up again. Nothing came out except bile and pain.I leaned against the sink, shaking.“This is not real,” I whispered to myself. “This is not happening.”But it was.I rinsed my mouth and looked at my reflection. My face looked thinner. My eyes were sunken and red. I barely recognized myself. I looked like someone who had been crying for too long and hoping for something that would never return.I walked back into the bedroom and locked the door even though I knew it did nothing. The guards were outside. The cameras were everywhere. Still, I felt exposed.I crawled into bed and pulled the blanket over my head.I tried calling Drake again.Switched off.I tried again.Nothing.A sob escaped my mouth before I could stop it. I

Chloe’s POV I didn't listen to Mrs. Grace and I don't care if I got killed either. It's my sister we are talking about here. I don't even know what I will do with my life if I learned that she had been tortured. Of course, she has been. In the picture, it looked like she had been beaten to a pulp. Like she has been tortured. The thought of something bad happening to her scared me to death.I rummaged through the closet till I found a black hoodie and a face cap. I put them on and found myself a black nose mask. I was ready and prepared to go save my sister. I couldn't trust anyone. Not even Drake. I have been sick and he hasn't even checked up on me. What more of my sister? She was nothing to him.I moved closer to the glassy door and slide it opened to review the balcony. There was no staircase, nothing. I looked down and see a particular guard. I looked around and found out he was the only one designated there. He was armed too. That didn't stop me.I went back in and searched arou

Chloe’s POV "That’s enough, Sylvia. I didn't say you could hurt her!" Jack yelled, grabbing Sylvia's hair and shoving her to the floor and he came closer to me.His hand was wrapped around my neck. "No, Jack. Please don’t hurt her. You can't!" Hilda weeped. He snapped his eyes to Hilda’s direction and bellowed,"Shut up and watch how I will deal with your lovely slut of a sister."Hilda didn't shut up which caused Jack to hit her with the barrel of the gun making her pass out."No! Hilda!" I screamed out loud but he came to me and hit my face.My phone began to beep. Ringing. Vibrating against my pocket. This got him angry."You are mine, Chloe..not my father's. You are mine..mine alone..mine to fuck, mine to ruin, mine to destroy. You are mine. You made a grave mistake of fucking my father!" He threatened, crashing his lips on mine which earned him a kick in his groin.Jack staggered back with a roar, clutching himself in pain. The sound that came out of him was ugly, filled with ra
