Serena's POVMy fingers burned as I held onto Charles’s hand, the skin wet from rain and fear. The edge of the roof cut into my knees, and every breath hurt my chest. The wind tore at my clothes, pulling at me as if the building itself wanted me gone. Below us, the city lights shook and blurred, distant and uncaring.Charles laughed.
