Selena locked eyes with the guy, her nervousness and fear completely gone now. If anything, she felt herself relating to him. “Then how did you become a vampire?”“Well, being banished suddenly is crazy,” Malek said, chuckling sadly. Memories played in his head, causing his heart to clench, but he needed to tell this story. He needed to make sure that the omega understood why he was doing all of this. “When you’re kicked out of a place that you have roots in, a place where you built your life and everything…you lose it all.” He sighed. “We lost everything, and we had to start all over again. And that was the hardest thing we ever had to do.” “I can only imagine.” “Yeah,” He said in a breathy way. “So yeah, we ended up finding a rogue pack, and we moved there. They accepted us with open arms, something that our own pack wasn’t able to do for us.” He locked eyes with her. “We lived there for years, and then my dad died when I was seventeen, so I had to find a job to help my mom becaus

When the omega started walking away, Maddox stopped her by saying, “Selena, we’re not done here.” His voice was hard and filled with authority. “I am your alpha, and you can not walk away from me when I’m not done talking to you.” His heart burned in pain when he did this, because you see, he really liked this girl. It felt like he had found his person, and using his power or authority on her was the last thing that he thought that he would have to do. But this was important. Not just for the pack, but for their relationship. He was piecing together that she was more of an avoidant. She liked to hide her feelings or emotions; she liked dealing with things on her own. She turned and looked at him, her face filled with an emotion that he could not really decipher. “Are you seriously doing this?” He took a step closer to her and released a sharp exhale. “Yes, I am,” He replied without breaking eye contact. “We have a lot to talk about; this is not only about you. So I’d suggest that

Selena allowed herself to be hugged by the alpha; it felt so good to be in his arms. It was obvious that he cared about her, and that made her heart do backflips. She really did care about him as well. He then pulled away, but still had his arms around her, though. Then he closed the small distance between the two of them, but this time it was not for a hug but a kiss. His lips crashed into hers, and she was pleasantly taken aback. She soon melted into the kiss, and they were full-on kissing in no time. Their eyes instinctively closed, and they held onto each other as if the other person would disappear. For those few seconds, it was like everything in the world was right again. It was like all their stress and problems had disappeared. But like all good things, the kiss had to come to an end. As they pulled away from each other, they locked eyes, and Selena could not help but smile. Her heart was pounding in her chest. She wanted more of him. She was craving more of his touch and

It felt like it was a dream, if he was being honest. Maddox stood there, looking at his mother. In that moment, all the anger and rage disappeared; locked away in his part of his mind to be used later. “Maddox,” The woman said, tears streaming down her face as she rushed towards him, pulling him in an embrace. She hugged him tightly, her heart pounding in her chest and emotions flooding her. He stood there, just in shock; his brain was trying to process all of this. How could this be real? It wasn’t, right? For years, he had made peace with the fact that he had lost his mom and dad. But to have his mother hugging him in a tight embrace was so confusing and comforting at the same time. He didn’t hug her back at first. He just stood there, trying to mentally chew on it all. But then he slowly wrapped his arms around her and hugged her back. He was much bigger and taller than her now. The last time he had seen her, she had been towering over him instead. Oh, how time was such a weir

Maddox was done talking with his mom; the woman had told him a lot. But honestly, she had been really vague about her whole addiction thing. Nevertheless, he did not push her. He felt like she was going to open up when she was ready. A part of him felt like she was still using, and that broke him. But at the same time, he was just glad to have her back. Sighing, he led the woman to one of the guest rooms, and as she was settling in, he left her alone. He wanted to talk to Leon about everything, including how the omega was going to be trained. Like, he wanted to know whether he and the beta were going to train her, or if they were going to have to get Axiel to do that. The guy was basically one of the best trainers in the pack, so yeah. Maddox walked down the hallway, feeling like the weight on his shoulders was lighter now. As he headed to the living room, he suddenly stopped, furrowing his brows as his heart dropped. Something stopped him…he could smell a familiar perfume. It wa
