Back to Selena, she was still in the hospital room, her heart thumping in her chest. She knew that not agreeing to do what the doctor had suggested was going to get her or get Cassie in trouble. And she didn’t want any of that. Getting caught with wolfbane was a serious crime. It could even be punishable by being banished from the pack. Or a lifetime behind bars. And again, she didn’t want any of that.So she decided to do what the guy was asking her to do. All he wanted was some dirt on the alpha, right? She didn’t have to give him something that could ruin the guy’s life. She could just give him anything that might seem interesting enough.Sitting in the bed thinking about it all, she then found out what she was going to say. Just in time, he walked into the room, a look on his face that she couldn’t decipher.“We need to talk,” he said as he closed the distance between them, sitting on the bed right next to her.“I know,” she replied. “I have made a decision, I will do what you wa

Alpha Maddox was pacing the living room, still trying to call Cassie over and over, but just couldn’t get to her. It was like she had blocked him or something. As for the omega, she couldn’t even get her number to ring or say anything. This was stressing him because both of the girls had been gone for hours now. It was literally a few minutes past midnight.“Do you think they’re hurt?” He stopped pacing and locked eyes with his beta. Without waiting for an answer, he shot another question, “But what if both of them aren’t together and it’s just a coincidence that they’re gone at the same time?” He was a bit hopeful by this. The beta shook his head slowly. “Even the guards said that they left together. The maids are saying the same thing.” “F*ck,” He cursed under his breath before proceeding to try to call the blonde girl again. “We know how Cassie can get. And with this whole breakup thing, I’m scared that she might hurt Selena.”Leon was worried about this too, he knew how crazy the

Back at the hospital, Selena started to wake up. Her vision was at first blurry, but it soon cleared in seconds. The first person she saw was the alpha, then her eyes landed on his beta by the door. “You’re awake,” Maddox said to her, still running his hand through her hair gently. He could see that her hair was now fully white, not even one hint of what it was before. This was just confirmation that she was really the savior that the Moon goddess had chosen for the pack. But he still didn’t know why she didn’t want to believe this. Her memories started to come back to her, and she sat up, causing the alpha to pull his hand away. “How long have you guys been here?” She asked, clearing her throat right after hearing how hoarse she sounded. “Not too long,” Leon replied. Then he started to walk closer to them, but refrained from sitting on the bed. He folded his arms on his chest before asking, “Selena, where’s Cassie?” The moment he mentioned the blonde girl’s name, he could see the

Alpha Maddox walked down the hallway and passed by a few offices until he reached the one at the end, the exact one that the woman in the elevator had described. When he had closed the distance between him and the glass door, he could see Elijah, but the guy was not alone. He was with another guy, and they were talking. It looked like they were talking about something important. They looked deep in conversation. But it was almost as if the doctor had sensed his presence because he turned his attention towards the door. He stared for a few long seconds before turning back to the guy who was in the office with him. He said something to the guy and then stood up from his chair. Both of them walked towards the door, and he opened it, allowing the guy to walk out before finally addressing the alpha. “What do you want?” “We need to talk,” Maddox said, releasing a small sigh. “We already talked about everything that we needed to talk about at the council meeting. I have nothing more to

Selena opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling, worried out of her mind as to what she was going to do next. She had no clue at all. Then the door made a sound, and someone walked in. The familiar cologne was enough to let her know who it was. She looked over and saw that it was Elijah. He made his way over to the bed and sat down. He flashed her a very small smile before sighing. “How do you feel?” She tried to sit up, and pain pinched her belly, so she just remained lying down. “I feel like I’m not healing,” She confessed. “I have gotten hurt a few times in my life, and none of them feel like now.” “Well, you were given wolfbane, Selena. That’s something that is specifically used to kill our kind. So yeah, your fast healing is kind of thrown off right now. You’re really lucky to be alive, let alone even conscious right now,” He explained. “Oh…” “Yeah,” He said the word in a breathy way. “How’s Lily?” She locked eyes with him when she asked this. She was dying to know; she
