Selena had to change into something different because they had to leave the mansion. What Leon had said was something that she was still trying very hard to digest. She was still trying so hard to mentally chew on it, to make sense of it. And gosh, she did know how to feel about it, but the truth was that she just could not. She could not feel. Maybe it was because she was in shock. Maybe it was because she was still trying to process what had happened. As she sat in the car right next to the beta, she stared straight forward. She wanted to ask him if he was sure about what he had told her, but she decided against it. She kept her thoughts to herself until they finally reached their destination. Leon killed the engine of the car and removed his seatbelt before opening the door and getting out of the vehicle. The omega soon got out too and followed him. Both of them walked into a huge building and then made their way to reception. “Hi, how may I help you guys?” The lady behind the

Maddox felt his heart beating out of his chest. He knew that whatever that he was about to be told was not going to be good news. He knew that his life was about to be changed, and not even in a good way. It was definitely the calm before the storm, and although he wanted to stay like this for a little while longer, his need to know what the beta was about to tell him was even greater. “Leon, where is my mom?” He asked again, taking a step closer to the guy. The beta exhaled deeply before finally replying, “I took her to rehab because she overdosed. That was a few days ago, and she was doing so well over there. But this morning, I got a call from the facility and they said that she overdosed again. It’s being privately investigated, don’t worry.”“Wait…” Maddox ran his hand through his hair, very confused. He was trying to wrap his head around what was going on, on what he was being told. “First of all, you’re trying to tell me that my mom overdosed and you did not tell me. Are you

Bodi did not know how he had gone to sleep, but when his eyes fluttered open, he felt a bit better than how he had felt the first time he had woken up. His head was not pounding in pain so much again, and it felt like the numbness from the pain meds had faded a bit. Even though they had faded and he was feeling less loopy, his pain level was not even a five. He made a small groan as he turned and checked where he had seen Malek the first time when he had woken up, and the guy wasn’t there. He released a breath that he did not know that he was holding. He was incredibly afraid of the guy, he knew that he could have been dead if Malek did not have some kind of plan that involved him. He may have been insignificant all his life, but not this time. Even though he knew that the guy’s plan was evil, at the same time, was it really evil? It was a plan to avenge omegas who have been treated like trash for centuries. If anything, it was about time. Yes, not everyone in the town was classis

The house was quiet. It was usually not very noisy, but this kind of quiet was different. This one made Selena feel so uncomfortable. And it had her even missing Cassie who used to treat her like sh*t. Knowing the girl had been lost forever to being a vampire made the omega very sad. Then the dark prophecy was also very much alive more than ever. And let’s not forget that the alpha had just lost his mother. Everything just seemed very heavy. It made sense as to why the beta had decided to go for a run. Selena wished that she could, too. And she knew that she could, no one would stop her. But she was way too tired, and besides, she knew that she would have to wake up early for training. So yeah, running was not an option right now. She made her way out of the mansion and towards the garden, the cold of the night licking the back of her neck. It was not chilly, the temperature was actually perfect. That was kind of the only thing that was right at the moment, everything else was a d

Four Apple Martinis soon turned to eight, and before Selena could even register it in the back of her mind, she was already drunk. She wished that she had not drank so much, she really did. But there was no going back in time. There was nothing that she could do now. She was in the hands of Elijah and whatever he wanted to do with her, he could. But she trusted him, she knew that he was a good guy. She knew that if anything, she had been the one to hurt him; she had been the villain. And despite it all, he had still treated her and her family well. She was barely listening to what he was saying, but laughed freely anyway. At the moment, everything felt…lighter. Life felt way much better. There was no anxiety choking her, and she did not have to be reminded by her mind that she could die in the battle with Malek and let everyone down. She was no longer worried about the alpha, or had any guilt about the fact that Axiel was in love with her when both of them knew that she could neve
