Alexander’s POV The air in the basement was thick, damp, suffocating and it smelled of blood mixed with sweat. And whatever waste it was that Adrian had been producing- his body fluids made the air very pungent and I wanted to throw up but I held myself and walked forward. I had to do this no matter how disgusting the place smelled. The room was dimly lit and the only bulb that illuminated the room was flickering like it was about to give out as it casted eerie looking shadows across Adrian’s wounded and battered body. He looked all shabby and unkempt- his clothes were torn, his hair greasy and matted with dried blood and his face was both swollen and bruised. 

Maya’s POV “How are you feeling today?” She asked ever so softly and I was surprised to see that she wasn’t asking about the baby but rather about me. “I feel much better,” I replied honestly. “I’m still tired but the doctor said everything is going as it should. Alexander’s POV Oh, just shut up and get to work, a tiny voice in my head said and I quickly hurried to my home office. It was already nighttime and quite late when I decided to go check on my three favorite women.
