Trent's POV The forest was still– too still as I trudged ahead, walking with no destination. My sides still hurt, the dried blood felt like a heavy crust, my breath was uneven yet I dragged myself, taking one step that felt as heavy as iron weights. The air was cold. The winter cold was biting, sinking into my skin but I barely felt any of it. My body was numb already from the cold, from the blood loss and even more from exhaustion, from the weight of everything that has happened in the last couple of hours. Suddenly, a crack of a twig.
