ASHLEY Waking up from the nightmare that haunted my dreams was another nightmare. I could hear the news playing from downstairs, and just like I expected, they were talking about me. His face remained straight like he didn't just say something to make her laugh so loud. I wondered what he would have said to get such reactions from her. I had never imagined him cracking a joke and I didn't think I ever would. Perhaps Lauren was just laughing at a slip of words or something else, since she could basically laugh at anything, no matter how unfunny it was.
