Summer’s POV Dinner at the De Rossi mansion was supposed to be quiet, at least that’s what I thought. After the day’s chaos, after everything Lucien told me, I tried to calm myself down. I took a long shower, letting the warm water wash away the trembling in my hands, the heaviness in my chest. For a few minutes, I pretended everything was normal. When I walked into the dining room, the sound of laughter, Katherine’s laughter, echoed softly against the marble walls. She was seated at the head of the table, elegant even in her silk robe, sipping wine like nothing in the world could shake her.
