I ran through the rain, desperate to wash everything off the pain, the humiliation, the betrayal that clung to my skin like poison. My tears mixed with the downpour as I screamed into the empty night. “You jerk! You fool! I hate you!” The storm swallowed my voice, but I didn’t stop.
