Lahat ng Kabanata ng Once An Overlooked Housewife, Now A Queen Of Fortune: Kabanata 61 - Kabanata 70

As early as 5:45am, Grace was still running late for the shoot. She hurried towards William’s building, where the team’s van was already parked, crew members unloading the cameras and sound gear. She had a giant travel mug of coffee in her hand, which she held close to her face so that the steam could warm her face. She’d opted for all black; trousers, a fitted turtleneck, and hair in a high ponytail.“Morning, Grace.”She nodded curtly at Derek who was busy fussing with a light stand. “What’s the status?”“We’re setting up inside. Mr Setting let us in five minutes ago. We’re ready when you are, boss.”Grace took a scalding gulp of coffee to ground herself for the next couple of minutes. Then she walked over to William’s door and hit the doorbell.William answered the doorbell himself and he looked unfairly put together for the hour; wearing a pair of black joggers that h

"A bottle of rare Japanese whisky. A limited-edition vinyl from a band that Damian Cole followed on social media. An absurdly soft throw pillow. A life-sized cutout of his celebrity crush and a handwritten apology note. All of these, Wren had taken to Damian’s apartment and knocked on his door several times, but he never responded.“Why does such drama never occur when I’m around?” Grace threw a fake tantrum, laughing heartily at the story Wren told her of what had happened days ago.Wren was busy scraping the carrot she had just finished chopping into a simmering pot of lentil soup. “It’s not funny,” she scoffed. “I feel like such a fool. Can you imagine those things have been sitting outside his apartment for the past two days collecting dust? What the hell?”“Maybe your bribe wasn’t his type,” Grace burst out into another fit of laughter.Wren stopped what she was doing and rested a hand melodramatically on her waist. “Remind me why I called you again? You probably wouldn’t be laug

"How dare he deceive her like that?Wren regretted spending so much time and effort trying to appease someone who apparently got off on making her feel small. Not worth it at all.It was clear he wanted war, he wanted war and he would wage it alone because she wasn’t going to give him another second of her time or energy anymore. They were reaching the Morell Industries building in a few minutes and Wren had to work hard to redirect her mood to what was ahead of her because she had much more important things to do that actually needed her full attention.Wren headed for the restroom first before anything else, evening out her breathing and tucking the anger away.****Ever since winning the proposal for the Solace Heights project, employees in Felix’s company started acting differently towards Wren. They were nicer and more respectful, which was quite a shock to digest for Wren considering the tight air that used to be the

"How could Wren be going through her own shit and still have the time to plan a blind date for Grace? She wouldn’t have come here had Wren not given her a whole speech as to why she needed to go on this date and how important it was for Grace.“When does she ever think about herself?” Grace scoffed againThe whole concept of a blind date was like a chore to Grace. She’d agreed purely to appease Wren. The so-called perfect guy was now ten minutes late, which to Grace was good, so she could have more reason to ghost him after the whole thing was over. She heard footsteps approaching her table, to then stop at her table. Grace didn’t look up.“Hi.” Greeted the man.Grace sighed internally, plastering on the thinnest veneer of politeness as she raised her head. The face looking down at her with the same expression of disbelief was William’s.She looked around the room frantically to be sure

"“I’m sorry, babe. You seemed so…I don’t know…stuck, and I thought maybe if you just saw him outside of work…”“Stuck,” Grace repeated as she floated over the water on her back, staring up at the sky. Then she flipped herself and swam back towards Wren who was resting by the wall of the pool, hanging in both elbows as she kicked her feet in the water.“Wren, if you knew the truth, you’d understand why I can’t even be properly angry at you right now.”“What truth?” Wren asked curiously.Grace ducked under the water briefly before surfacing again, buying herself seconds she didn’t really need. Then she sighed.“I told you we only made out. But we didn’t just make out.”Wren’s eyes went slightly wide and searching as she locked them on Grace’s averted profile. “Huh?”Grace finally looked Wren in the
