ALLY’S POV Just as Mrs. Cuevas had ordered her staff, no one brought me any food, water, or even medicine. My eyes were almost swollen shut from crying nonstop inside this room. I never imagined that in just the blink of an eye, all the affection they once had for me would vanish completely. But who am I really trying to fool? Who am I to deserve their love anyway? I’m not even related to them at all. When night fell, I was surprised when the door suddenly opened and Nanay Tessy walked in, carrying a tray of food. “N-Nanay Tessy? Why are you here? And what’s that you brought? Weren’t you forbidden from giving me anything to eat or drink?” I asked, confused and trembling. She sat gently by the edge of my bed and placed the tray on the side table. “I couldn’t bear to let you go hungry, child.
