Chapter 11

Leo’s POV The closer I got to the packhouse the surer I was going there was probably a dangerous idea. I’d killed other wolves before, in combat, but I had needed to, to protect the pack and in wolf form. What I felt right now was that my human form wanted to tear the warrior apart with my own two hands. Chapter 12

Nova’s POVI’ve never been as confused as I am in this moment. I am in such a soft bed and so comfortable, lying under a thick duvet I just can’t be in the asylum, and this is definitely not my room at home. But I can’t open my eyes yet. My lids feel like they are glued together and it takes a full minute of telling them to open before I can see where I am.What I see is strange. It looks like one of the guest bedrooms at the packhouse, but its decorated too nicely to be one of them. I am not on an ordinary bed. it's a four poster bed with a huge wooden canopy stretching above me. I turn my head to slightly to the left side and I can see a gold velvet chaise lounge and some wooden bedroom furniture.It all looks rich and expensive. Chapter 13

Nova’s POVI think it’s going to take me a while to be able to close my mouth again. My jaw dropped open in shock and now it’s not working. I am just blinking rapidly at Leo trying to process what he’s telling me.“They’re not my real family?” I asked in disbelief. “This makes no sense”“I know.” Leo responded, he looks almost as confused as I am. I look at him properly for the first time since I woke up. Nova’s POVI have to give credit to The Alpha and Leo, they are men of their word. It’s been two days since I woke up completely and I’ve not been left alone for a second. I wasn’t even allowed into the en suite bathroom to brush my teeth without Leo hovering like I was going to drop any second. It was very sweet but also quite infuriating. I am only getting to use the toilet on my own when Leo realised after 30 minutes, I wasn’t joking that I can’t pee with someone in the room.I really wish my mate had not seen my shy bladder kicking in, in real life. Leo’s POV I am a bad person. Even though I knew this attitude Nova was rocking right now was all an act to keep herself going I was getting turned on. She already looked hot in the jumper and jeans she was in, and I’ve never seen her with her hair up before. Being able to see her face and the graceful line of her neck was making me itch to mark her. I had to tell myself to settle down. This was so not the time for the thoughts I was having. Nova’s POVHow I managed to keep my calm in that cell I will never know. It’s a couple of hours later and I am sat with Leo in his bedroom. We are sat on his bed and he has his arm wrapped around my shoulders and is holding me against his chest while we discuss this morning.All I really want to go do is go to sleep. Leo’s POVI’ve read books where they describe the tension in the room as thick but never experienced it before today. Now I understood when people said you could cut it with a knife. Nova’s POVSomething is wrong…I just don’t know what. After I got back from my walk with my brothers yesterday the atmosphere had changed. They had seemed to have come to a friendly truce with us all in the morning but by the time we were all seated for dinner, I felt like it had in the office before we spoke. Tesnse and tight.
