Chapter 16

Nova’s POV

How I managed to keep my calm in that cell I will never know. It’s a couple of hours later and I am sat with Leo in his bedroom. We are sat on his bed and he has his arm wrapped around my shoulders and is holding me against his chest while we discuss this morning.

All I really want to go do is go to sleep. I think I was running on pure adrenaline this morning and now it has worn off it has left me with a headache and feeling tense all over.

Taking a deep breath, I ask the question I have been dreading the answer to, “Leo” I say pulling away slightly to look at him. “What happens next?”

Leo looks at me and is taking his time to answer. It’s a big question. What happens to the traitors? What happens with us? What does my future look like now? Until 6 weeks ago my entire life plan was to be a packless rogue living amongst the humans. The total sum of my ambition was to do some sort of bar work, never get noticed by anyone and be able to exist without pain.

    Nova’s POV“He said WHAT?” Leanna practically squawked with indignation. “What the hell kind of thing is that to say?”.“It took me twenty minutes to pick my jaw up off the floor and resume to normal functioning after he walked out.” I tell her.     Nova’s POV“Details, Princess, I need details” says a female voice far too chipper for this time of the morning. My eyes aren’t even open yet and I am already hating this morning. I may, MAY have regrets about the amount I drank last night.
