CHAPTER 22 โ THE WEDDING Morning came too fast. Jasmine barely slept at all. Every time she shut her eyes, her mind replayed the same loop flowers, cameras, vows, Alexโs face, strangers staring, the pressure of pretending everything was normal. Her heart wouldnโt settle. Her body refused to rest. When the first knock hit her door, she nearly jumped out of her skin. Jamie burst into the bridal suite with the urgency of a firefighter entering a burning building. She held two iced coffees like life-saving equipment. โDrink,โ she commanded, thrusting one at Jasmine. โYou look like a ghost bride. And Alice is having heart palpitations over your hair.โ As if summoned, Alice stormed in behind her, arms full of brushes, lip colors, hairpins, and enough setting spray to freeze a statue. โI am NOT having palpitations,โ she said immediately, even though she clearly was. โI am simply dedicated.
