The tiles under my feet, the air in the room, even the way the light hit the sink felt wrong. Wrapping the towel tightly around myself, I stumbled to the door.“Get dressed,” the man barked again. He stood near the window like a statue carved from steel. “All the clothes in the closet are yours. Hurry.”I didn’t ask questions. His tone didn’t allow it.
