Semua Bab The Tycoon's Wild Card: Bab 1 - Bab 10

Trish’s POV:“Mom, where are you going?” I asked my mom who stood beside the red car she loved so much. She looked down at me, as if just realizing that she had a child. “Uh… a business trip, love.”“I want to come with.”“You can’t.” She said harshly, frowning down at me. “I’ll be back soon, don’t worry.” She added and even though I was very young, I knew she wasn’t telling the truth.I began to cry but she quickly hushed me before moving me away from the car, stepping inside and driving away from our big house. That was the last I saw mother.I stood there, just outside the door to my father’s mansion, a mere six years old girl and cried till a maid came over and ushered me inside. That was how my life had been growing up. Before my mom left, my dad was never around, and I thought to myself that perhaps that was the reason why she’d left. She could not stand being so alone, but then I’d ask myself why she hadn’t gone with me, why she’d left me to suffer alone.Things got better afte

Percy’s POV:I stood outside my humble duplex in Rome, just beside the car I was suppose to drive to the airport. It felt a bit surreal that I would be leaving Italy after all this years and what made it even more surreal was the fact that I knew it’d be a while before I returned.About twenty-two years ago, I’d been dumped here, by myself, with nobody save an elderly woman who had overtime become the person I loved the most in the world.“You’re still here?” Nonnina Carla spoke as she stepped out of the house, holding a small lunch box in her hand.“I told you not to pack anything.”It was quite normal to call Carla the title nonnina. She had asked me to call her that when I asked a long time ago if I could call her ‘mother’. She had smiled then and said: “I’m your little grandmother, so call me Nonnina.”“You might’ve grown into a young man, but don’t forget it was I who raised you. In my eyes, you’ll always be my little Percy.” She said in Italian while ruffling my hair with her ri

Percy’s POV:The drive to wherever Declan was taking me was painfully long and boring. We sat facing each other in the limo and while I looked out the tinted window at blurred buildings, and city lights, Declan was happy to glue his phone to his face.I was grateful that he did not attempt to engage in small talks, even though I knew from when we were little that he wasn’t the type to do that, a small part of me hoped that he had changed, but I guess not.As I watched the city through the window I suddenly felt my anxiety rear its head once more. It dawned on me that the moment was imminent now, I would be meeting my father as a grown man, after all this time.I stopped caring about what he thought of me, or whether or not he cared about me after abandoning me in Rome. With nonnina Carla’s help, I had managed to not think of it and just enjoy the opportunity, the freedom but even during those time, when I closed down the car business and made a fashion line.I knew it would be success

Declan’s POV:“You’ll join your brother in leading the company.” Father said and I felt anger cloud my eyes as I bolted to my feet, but mother was quick to get a word in before me.“Surely you’re joking, Robert.” Mother said, also rising to her feet. “This is Declan’s birthright, his blood and sweat. He’s worked his ass off for years and now you’re going to split just because some bastard came running back into your arms?”Father turned to look at mother angrily and they launched into an argument I could not hear. My eyes were fixed on Percy and surprisingly, he looked just as confused as I was.A pretending bastard. The words rang in my head and I wanted nothing more than to grab him and squeeze the life out of him.“You will listen to what I say woman. I have spoken and that is final.” Father shouted, slamming his palm on the arm of the sofa and that seemed to shut mother up as she deflated and fell back to her seat.I decided that this was as good a time for me to voice my disappro

Trish’s POV:I spent three more days at the hospital after my father’s business, three days thinking of what to do when the time comes for me to leave the hospital. On the day I was discharged, I was handed my phone and the black dress I’d worn on the unfortunate day when my life came crashing.Bitterness washed over me as I dressed and then picked up my phone to see that I’d gotten not a single text message or a call from anybody. The reality that I was now alone in the world was so frightening and it made me want to cry, but I built my resolve and promised myself then and there in that hospital that I wasn’t going to cry anymore.Crying was for weak people. Strong and smart people didn’t waste their time crying, they spent it planning and carrying out their revenge. Which was what I was going to do.Revenge. I had no idea how I was going to do it, but I knew I would do it. I would make sure that I made everybody who had a hand in my suffering pay.I took my purse and was able to bo
