"Come, Elara, come,” a woman dressed in white, her robe shining like stars, called out to me. I was curious so I followedher. I was so captivated by her beauty, elegance, and grace. We walked through the quiet forest, hearing sounds from the trees. As we went deeper, it became darker, and I began to feel scared."Elara! Elara!" Mr. Kart's voice echoed among the trees.I sighed with satisfaction, knowing I wasn't far from the search party. That motivated me to continue moving."I'm here!" I said.As I went deeper into the forest, I felt completely lost in the forest and torchlights of the others faded away and I was left all alone in the dark forest. I moved deeper into the forest, breathing faster than normal. My footsteps sounded too loud on the crunchy leaves. I didn't stop until I found a small clearing. A beam of light fell through the trees. My legs hurt and I felt less scared. I went over, sat in the light, and hugged my knees."Just for a minute," I said quietly to myself.Everywhere was quiet. CHAPTER THREE

ELARA’S POV:I woke up to find myself in a strange but familiar environment. The air was warm, with a subtle aroma of pine and smoke. I blinked, trying to regain consciousness, but everything around me shimmered like a dream.The room was enormous, far too large to be called a room. It looked like something out of a storybook: a huge hall made from stone and wood. The ceilings were so high that I couldn't see the end, painted with silver patterns and images of wolves running under a full moon. The sun rays came in through large windows. I sat up slowly, my heart pounding. The bed was incredibly soft, covered in nice linens and velvet. The room felt very luxurious, with big wooden pillars and bigbright lanterns on the walls."Where… am I?" I whispered.There was no response. Only an echo of my voice that back to me.A huge fireplace with flickering flames lit one end of the room. CHAPTER FOUR

ELARA’S POV:I woke up to sunlight coming through the window. My room looked totally different from the cottage I shared with Aunt Caroline. The ceiling was high and had strange designs, and long and heavy curtains at windows. The sheets i was lying on were the smoothest I’d ever touched.I wondered if I was dreaming again.A soft clatter shocked me. A young maid, stood by the window, holding a folded towel. When our eyes met, she smiled quickly."You're awake!" she said, hurrying over. "Alpha said to bring you food once you wake,""Alpha?" My voice came out weak and surprised. "You mean… Aiden?"Her eyes widened and she nodded quickly. "Yes, Alpha Aiden." You should rest, Miss. You were terribly hurt when they found you."Found me. The words rang in my mind.Before I could ask anything else, she placed a tray on the table beside me. The aroma of warm bread and spices filled the air, blending with the gentle scent of lavender. By sunset, I couldn't stay in my room any longer. The silence was making me nervous, so when the maid said I could step out for some air, I went right away.At first, I thought I was seeing people. But then, one man turned, and his eyes glowed with a bright, golden light that didn't seem human. A woman laughed, and when she smiled, I saw her sharp, pointy teeth. It really was so frightening.They weren’t just people.They were wolves.A cold shiver ran down my spine. My legs felt heavy as I tried to run. The low growls, the soft whispers seemed too loud in my ears. I pressed my back against the wall, my heart beating so hard it almost hurt. Someone whispered nearby, “That’s her… the girl he brought in.”Another voice replied, “They say she’s his mate.”Mate? Alpha? Wolves? None of it made sense. I tried to take a step back, my fingers trembled and my body was shaking terribly. I’d never been so afraid, not even when I faced that rogue wolf in the forest.Before I could take a step

AIDEN’S POV:My wolf sensed danger and my instincts took control. I held on to Elara’s hands ever so tightly waiting for the unidentified creature to show forth. In a bid to plunge into the forest, Darius comes out of the bushes with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.“Darius,” I said, relieved.“Oh Aiden! Why are you out here this cold night?” he asked looking surprised.“And why are you out here with those in your hands?” I replied, pointing to the flowers in his hands.“Oh these! These are for Elara, I thought of collecting and bringing them to her as a form of welcome.” He said smiling.He moved closer to Elara, stretched out her hands, handed over the flowers and kissed it as a form of courtesy. For some reason, knowing that it was a good deed, I felt a tingling form of heat running through my veins. I mean, it’s Darius so why do I feel so angered by his actions. CHAPTER SEVEN

ELARA POV:I sat there shocked and taken aback by what I just saw and heard. But then my mind became aware of my surroundings, the room, Aiden’s room, the Alpha’s room. It felt so unreal. I looked around, like trying to let the whole atmosphere sink in. His room was wide and utterly majestic -the walls were dark, smooth and held quite a shine. On one side, there was a huge painting of a wolf standing on a cliff, its eyes glowed as he howled. Another corner had carved wolf symbols, giving the room an ancient touch. There was a huge chandelier which was hung in the center of the room. It looked like it was made out of black metal and twisted branches, beautiful! The bed was huge, wide, high and sturdy. The sheets were deep black with sliver lines which looked soft and rich like there were made for someone who ruled, someone feared. The carpets were thick and soft and a part of my mind had me thinking if it was made out of wolf’s skin.The air smelled clean and cold, they smelled of him.

CHAPTER EIGHT

AIDEN’S POV:“Aiden!” Uncle Rowan screamed my name through the manor.I jolted up from bed from the scream. Uncle Rowan- Elder Rowan in public-was the only man I looked up to as father figure since my parents died. The only person who had rights to treat me like a child, my mentor, advisor and Nightbane’s consultant. He was all these to my father and now to me.“Uncle?” I called out, confused.Before I could say or do anything, the door slammed open. Uncle Rowan stood there, his eyes wide open in shock of what he had just seen.“Aiden,” he said again, voice low and furious.I slowly got off the bed. My heart was beating really fast. “Uncle I can explain, I…”He raised a hand, “Not here. Come outside, now!”I looked at Elara who was already awake, her eyes full of fear as she clutched the blanket.I put my hand on hers showing a form of assurance. “It’s okay,” I whispered. “I’ll be back.”I walked toward the door. ELARA’S POV:Morning light warmed my eyelids before I opened them. I didn’t even need to look to know Aiden was still beside me. His scent, his heat, it wrapped around me so tightly. My mind was anything except calm.While still engulfed in my thoughts, Elder Rowan’s sudden entrance sent a shock through me. I jolted up almost instantly at the sound of his voice.Aiden sat up immediately.“Aiden,” Elder Rowan’s voice came from the doorway, firm and urgent. Aiden tried to speak but was cut off. “Come outside now.” He said with a thunderous tone.Aiden glanced at me. “It’s okay…I will be back.” He said, giving me a quick, reassuring look. He got on his feet and followed Elder Rowan out.The moment the door closed behind them, my stomach tightened. Questions ran through my head.Was I not supposed to be here?Did I not belong here?Were they regretting bringing me here?Minutes passed…or maybe more. AIDEN’S POV:Silence filled the air after Elara’s words.No lineage.No witnesses.No proof.Councilman Thorne leaned back in his chair slowly, hisfingers tapping against the armrest.“So…you have no pack history.
