The knock hit the door again harder this time. Jaxon froze, jaw tight, shoulders stiff, like every part of him wanted to ignore it. But the sound kept coming, fast and impatient. Brielle stepped back, pulse ricocheting through her chest. “Someone really wants your attention,” she whispered.
