Lyra's POVIndeed, it was one of those nights when the impossible felt possible. At the sound of the alarm bells, the entire pack fell into chaos. The night was fully alive. Screams rang from all corners of the pack as people scampered, crying out their Alpha's name so he could save them.More guards left their posts and headed for the borders to protect the people hence leaving my escape route unguarded. My lips curled up into a smile as I ran straight to my closet to pack a few clothes so I could escape the pack with them. As soon as I was done, I grabbed my small, black bag and left the room, heading out into the open. Outside the pack was always going to be a dangerous place to be but if the Rogues were here, then I should have a bit of time to get through to Elayne, my best friend, before they'd return. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, evading the crowd of people running in the opposite direction. But as I turned to my right, hoping to head straight down until I reach

Lyra's POVSeeing Fiona running into the room at that exact moment brought me great relief. I sighed, glad to have had her break that moment. If she hadn't come, I wouldn't have known what would have happened next. As she walked up the bed, I let out a stifled smile and handed her daughter over to her. “How are you doing?” She inquired. “How bad is it?”Amaya grabbed her mother's arm very tightly before I could speak. “Mother, Queen and Alpha were flirting with their eyes.”We all, except for her mother, cocked a brow at her, wondering how she got to know about such things. It must have been the guards or the maids speaking about something like that at the wrong time. Kids were always inquisitive, keen to pick up anything they heard. But it did sound a bit cute and it wasn't far from the truth. Ramdall's eyes were already back on me, burning through my skin. He didn't even acknowledge Fiona's presence despite her greeting him. As Fiona tended to me with the medicine she brought, I

Randall's POV“Are you sure about this?” Juan asked, his frown deepening as he sat across the small sofa in my study. I sighed and turned to my table, skimming through an important file on my desk. News about our fight with the rogues had spread around the entire realm with Alphas on the other packs intrigued to find out that we easily destroyed them. Most of the alphas reached out seeking an alliance. The rogues had terrorised the entire vicinity without mercy, plundering their resources as they willed. The document before me was one of those requests. It was from the Lotus Bridge pack. They detailed all that we stood to gain from them if we chose to be allies starting from an offer to let us have vast expanses of land in their pack. They had more than enough of that. Despite having one of the smallest numbers of wolves in their pack, the Lotus Bridge pack had the largest expanse of land. Their lands stretched long enough to contain three to four large packs. My father always us

Lyra's POVA few days later, May and I had become best friends. Well, it wasn't that hard. I had no other friend but her. Well, apart from Fiona and little Amaya. But those two were quite out of my age range so May was the obvious choice, if it was indeed a choice. We did a lot together, shared chores, covered and stood up for each other when the need arose. Well, it was mostly her doing the standing up but yeah, we bonded quite well. My heart was gladdened to have finally found a friend in this cruel pack, something I thought was impossible. If I had known that May was such a sweet girl, I'd have never tried to use her as a means to escape the pack. A knock sounded on my door as I sat on my bed, smiling broadly at the thought of my friendship with May. “Come in.”It was May but she wasn't alone. Fiona was by her side as they walked into my room to help me get ready for the ceremony. The night of the ceremony had finally arrived, and the entire pack buzzed, full of life as the pa

Lyra's POV“Don't worry, just breathe, Lyra. I mean, this is not a death sentence at least. It's a happy moment. Allow yourself to live it,” Fiona said, now standing behind me with Mia by her side. As soon as we went deeper into the hall, Juan went in search of his alpha, leaving me alone with an entire crowd whose eyes were fixed on me. “What's she doing here? Is she even supposed to be here?”“Isn't she supposed to be cleaning the floors? I hate seeing her around. She brings bad luck wherever she goes.”I'd have shut my ears with my hands but it felt even more awkward than the situation I was already facing so I chose to walk past them instead. Yet, everywhere I went, whispers followed, mostly horrible ones, but a few pack members who heard about my ordeal with the rogue had something nice to say about me. One of them even handed me a beautiful rose for standing up for the children, of which one was hers. Thankfully, Fiona and May stepped in at the right time and whisked me away
