Ramdall's POVSeeing Lyra all dressed up in the dress I had given her left me speechless for a moment. My heart fluttered as she walked into the hall, my wolf tugging at my chest. When I stepped onto the stage, taking in the admiration of my people, Lyra's soft gaze stood out to me, leaving me smitten and longing to take her in my hands. But the words of that rogue played in my head over and over, stirring my heart in a different direction. I scrunched my face as she drew closer, enraged that I let myself be deceived once more.“What did I tell you, Randall? You trust too much and if you keep going this way, you'll end up destroying everything that your parents built.”Those were Susan’s words right before I stepped into the hall. I tried several times to shake them off but I couldn't. It was simply because they were true. After we were done greeting the crowd, Lyra leaned in, revealing that she had something important to tell me. Sadly, I already knew what it was. If she were truly

Randall’s POVSeeing Susan so happy after I had given her the ring, which was meant for Lyra, didn't bring me the joy that I thought it would. Right there, it already felt like a mistake, a step taken too far to prove a point to Lyra. But I smiled, holding Susan's outstretched hand, staring at her face as if it meant so much to me and somehow, despite all I've said to her, she seemed to believe me.I kissed her hand and pulled her closer to me, planting a kiss on her right cheek. “I knew you'd do the right thing, Rand. I always knew you'd do the right thing.”I turned my eyes and locked them with Lyra, who just stood and watched with tears streaming down her face. My heart wrenched at the sight of her tears, her pain weighing deeply in my chest. But it was she who broke my heart. She brought this upon herself. I merely had a choice in it.I had hoped that things could work out between us, that I could put her father's crimes aside and make her mine. I was willing to go against the

Lyra’s POVI wasn't allowed to leave my room as soon as I got in, wasn't allowed to even step out to meet anyone. As soon as Fiona and I entered, some guards immediately came to the door and stood behind it, making it impossible for me to go anywhere. But thankfully, whilst in the room, we could hear a bit of what they were saying but they couldn't hear a word from us no matter how hard they tried, as long as we kept our voices down But we all knew that it wasn't over. Randall wasn't just going to let me stay put in my room, especially when he wanted me to be locked up in the cold room. He was going to do something about it, something drastic, I guessed, so Fiona and the rest of the pack members upstairs all held our breaths awaiting the kind of punishment that he was going to dish out to me. Well, I, on the other hand, had other plans that required my full attention. I had to leave. I needed to escape Ramdall's clutches and leaving the pack was the only way to make it happen. As

Lyra’s POVMay, Fiona and I were creeping down the servants’ corridor when another explosion rocked the foundation of the building, causing us to gasp almost at the same time. I shuddered, turning to May who looked very flustered. She stood rooted to a spot, her hands trembling vehemently.Fiona pulled me back protectively, standing before me, glancing around the area to see what was going on. Dust seeped through the ceiling as screaming erupted from the floor above. “Help! I don't want to die! Save us, Alpha!” A woman cried. “Oh, the Goddess! This is not how I want to die! My children. Our children! Please spare us!” Another yelled. “What was that?” Fiona gasped, turning to face me. I shrugged my shoulders, just as clueless as she was. May shook her head slightly, still trying to shake off the shock that nearly paralysed her. Suddenly, Fiona put out a hand, urging us to stay silent as she leaned in on one ear, tilting her head slightly. She continued to nod her head even though

Lyra’s POV“We have to go!” Maya urged me when I wouldn't say a word to her, pulling me towards another direction, away from the approaching warriors from my pack. I remained blank from what had happened right before my eyes, wondering what exactly I needed to do. Cold sweat had already gathered in my palms as several thoughts ran through my head whilst I stared out the entrance door. “Lyra!” She yelled once again, finally managing to jolt me out of my reverie. “We need to leave!”The war cries through the pack intensified, and so did the screams of the dying warriors just before they touched the ground. Maya led me through the hallway ahead, which was already filled with the bodies of dead warriors littered around the ground. “We must keep moving. They can be anywhere,” May warned, pulling me even harder. Just as we got to a turn, we spotted some wolves fighting hard in their wolf forms and we took the other way, running down the left side of the hallway in a bid to come out u
