ANNALISE/ LISA I stirred awake to a voice slicing through my sleep like sunlight through a crack in the blinds. “Hey, sleepyheads, wake up!” it called, bright and teasing. My eyelids fluttered, heavy with lingering dreams, and I blinked against the dim morning light. Slowly, reluctantly, my eyes opened, and I froze. A woman was standing there, right in the room, grinning as though she had been waiting for this exact moment. My heart thudded painfully against my ribs, a flutter of panic running up my throat.
