ANGEL The bullet caught Daniel in the shoulder and he cursed, blood blooming across his shirt, his grip on me loosening just enough. Daddy fired again, this time the bullet whizzing past Daniel’s chin, close enough to draw a thin line of red. Daniel pulled the gun out of me instantly.
