Rhyder's POV. Jackson and I flanked her from both sides, snapping at her hawks as we caught up with her. Alexis had been sneaking back into packlands ever since I shunned her. I had no idea why or what exactly she was doing when she did. My best guess, she was keeping an eye on Grace and me, watching us: our life together, our relationship, the way Grace was with me, the way I was with her, the time we spent together, how happy we made each other - everything that Alexis believed should have been hers. Jackson was the one who first caught her scent as he was making his rounds one night. I increased the numbers of patrols after that, but somehow, Alexis still managed to find her way inside. Rhyder's POV.I put Tate in bed and as I was pulling the covers over him, he turned his head toward me and opened his eyes slightly."Daddy?"His voice was raspy with sleep.I ruffled my fingers through his hair, enjoying the silky soft feeling. Grace's POV.Rhyder held me tight against his body as teared streamed endlessly down my face, burning the back of my throat. Miserable sobs tore through my body at almost perfectly timed intervals."It's okay, Grace. I'm here. I've got you...
