Maeve “I get what you mean but that jerk still needs to suffer for what he did to you!” I laughed at Theo’s words and laughed even more when Andro showed up with a frustrated expression. I could still hear the others going at each other so I knew why he looked frustrated. “Your brothers are a handful!” Andro declared as he sat next to me. I moved closer and hugged him. “Are they? Did they even notice that you left?” I doubt they noticed. “They didn’t notice. They are selecting from the collection and I showed them to the underground winery if they want a more varied selection.” He told me and leaned closer until we were snuggling on the couch. “Did you really give them a pass to Nonno’s collection?” Theo asked and Andro shrugged his shoulders. “Nonno is old! I doubt he even remembers most of his collections that have been with him for decades! Better to start letting people have a taste.” Andro responded. Just like that, the guys started talking about different

Maeve “Doctor Alex?” I called out his name even though I was sure. My sister has had three major surgeries so far and the man did two of those surgeries including the latest one she had. I have known him for about years now. I met him four years ago when my sister was referred from the first hospital, where she had her first surgery since it was a specialist hospital. “Eve?” I smiled. At least he called my name this time. He used to call me Ms. Fitzgerald. “You two know each other?” Theo asked walking further and coming to stand near me. “Yes, I know him. He is my sister’s surgeon.” I let out. The one who told us right after my sister had her first surgery that she would need another. The one who told us everything that we were missing about her condition. He didn’t sugarcoat anything and told us what my sister’s chances were. “That’s crazy!” Charles let out and I could only nod. It was beyond crazy. I knew him for four whole years. He is someone that I am v

Maeve“I am so sorry that I didn’t recognize you, Maeve.”He apologized again and again until he couldn’t speak anymore.I let him because I knew telling him he had nothing to apologize for wouldn’t make him stop apologizing. When he finally released me from his hold and looked at me again, I smiled at him.“You have been good to my family, Prof. You took up my sister's case and gave us more time with her when she was already written off.”I told him.“I even saw Melody today.”I smiled and nodded. I knew she went for her regular check-up.“She is all better now, like you said. Seven surgeries—three major and four minors later, she is all good. All thanks to you, so I can’t be mad at you.”I told him, and he finally smiled.“Even though you didn’t know me, you let me and my family get the help we needed, even when we couldn’t afford it. I knew you were the one who talked to the accounting department and let me work out a payment plan for her first surgery.”I never told him about it,

Maeve“Thank you, guys, for coming to see me yesterday, and I hope to see you all again soon.”I told my brothers the next day. As much as I wanted to stay and get to know them more, we all had things to do.Yesterday turned out to be very amazing for me, and we spoke until very late at night and woke up early the next morning, still talking and getting to know each other, but we all had to leave.Alessandro had an important meeting that couldn’t be done visually. My brothers also had things to do, and I had to speak to my team.We left the mansion at ten am and landed at the rooftop of Theo’s hotel, where Andro was staying, and that’s where I parted ways with my brothers temporarily.“This weekend.”James told me as he hugged me goodbye. We agreed to meet this weekend. By then, our parents who were traveling together would be back in town. They still don’t know my brothers have found me, and my brothers want it to be a surprise. Since our parents only recently got back together after

Maeve“Boss!”Axel let out when I walked into the office at almost twelve noon. My workers all stopped what they were doing to welcome me.“Hi, guys. I am sorry I ran off on you all.”I told them.“That’s okay, we perfectly understand.”Sharon told me, and the others agreed.“Thank you and meeting time!”I declared going to the long table for meetings.“Okay, first things first.”I said with a smile and waited for them to settle down.“I might be in and out a lot for a while since some crazy events happened during the weekend I was away, and I have to find answers to a lot of questions that I have, so I am going to trust you all to fill the gaps.”I told them. They looked confused.“Don’t worry, I will tell you all about it soon. Since this is our only project for now and we still have a few months before we have to be on site, we have time to change and fix whatever needs to be fixed in our designs.”I paused to make sure they were listening, and like always, they were.“I won’t be t

Alessandro“What do you want?”I asked when I let Theo into my suite. He scoffed and looked around.“Where is my sister?”I knew that’s why he said he was coming over.“She has a job. She already left for work.”He sighed in sadness as if he didn’t see her last night, and he would see her again this evening since it was Friday and they were meeting at their family house.“I miss her. I should have come earlier, but I had something to take care of.”I closed the door and walked inside.“She is not here.”I said again just to annoy him.’“Why do I sense some sort of hostility from you? Don’t you want me here?”I spread my hands out.“Isn’t it obvious? I was trying to get some sleep.”He glared at me.“Why didn’t you sleep last night. Also, don’t you have to go to work?”I smirked at his words.“Are you sure you really want to know why I didn’t get much sleep last night?”I laughed at the face he made when he realized.“Don’t you dare!”He warned me.“Then don’t ask. As for why I am not

Alessandro“No, I don’t mind at all. I know she isn’t with him, and I know she loves me, so her marital status doesn’t matter.”I told him.“You really love her, don’t you?”He asked.“I do. With all my heart.”Theo smiled proudly.“I am glad it’s you. I know you, and I know for sure that you are the best man for my sister.”I scoffed.“You are not the best man for my sister!”He laughed at my words.“Too late. We have two kids and another on the way. Plus, your sister loves me so much.”He let out.“Lucky bastard!”I cursed at him.“Lucky bastard, right back at you!”I smiled. We were both lucky to have our women.“Right, we are lucky bastards, and we should treat those women right.”He nodded and raised his glass in a toast.“Since we are moving in together, why don’t we talk about that too?”I told him, and he nodded.I still haven’t told Maeve about it yet, but I know she loved our time at the mansion. Hopefully, she will consider living there long-term.“I was going to talk abou

Alessandro“Hi, babe.”Maeve said and came to greet me with a kiss when she finished greeting Nonno. Her beautiful smile lights up my world. Every day when I wake up beside her, I fall a little more in love with her.I actually dread the fact that she might go back to her house after she visits her parents’ home.I don’t know how I will go to sleep and wake up without her by my side.Maybe we can discuss it, and I will move into her apartment. I want to be with her so much that I wish we didn’t have to work.“I didn’t know you were coming here. I would have waited for you.”I told her, and she smiled.“I wanted to surprise you, and I missed Nonno so much.”She told me.“I got you something, Nonno.”She said and handed him the package.“Chocolate cake.”He cheered happily.“Yeah, I spoke to your doctor, and she told me it was okay for you to have some sweet so I got this for us to share because you told me you liked it.”She told him. I was amazed that she even went as far as speaking

Maeve“How did you know that we would be moving into the mansion?”Andro asked me on the ride back from visiting Nonno. We spent the whole afternoon with the old man, who was so happy to hear that he would have his grandchildren back in his house.“Nadia,”I commented. We talk every day, and she happened to tell me what Andro had been planning, and she even apologized after she found out that we hadn’t discussed it yet.Even though I wondered why he didn’t tell me, I still liked the idea of living in that mansion. When I told Nadia that I would be visiting her grandfather, she mentioned it again and said it would help convince him to get the surgery that he really needed.I didn’t expect it to actually work, but it did, and now I have to get back to my doctor and make sure I can have a kid ready for the old man to name.“Snitch!”I laughed at Andro’s words.“She isn’t a snitch. Why didn’t you tell me? Were you scared that I won’t like the idea of moving into your family home?”I had m

Maeve“Who said anything about being flawless? No human being is flawless, baby, and I know that. What I am saying is that you are perfect for me. You with all your flaws, even the ones you think I don’t know about yet.” I literally melted inside at his words.Other people might think it’s cheesy or too bare minimal for me to react the way I did, but it was a whole new experience for me from a man.Maybe because I didn’t date a lot. Maybe there are a lot of men out there who are just like Andro, who always know the right words to say.I am just glad that I have that kind of man with me.The best man, the man is mine, and he loves me dearly.“I love you.”He smiled at my words.“I know.”He reached and took my hand in his. I grinned when he dropped a kiss on my hand.“I love you.”He told me and kissed my hand again before letting me go to focus on driving.“You know, we could have gone back to the hotel, and I would have ordered a new set of wardrobe for you if you didn’t want the on
