"You’re really here,” he murmured. I laughed softly through tears. “You too….Cassian?” I replied. Cassian didn't let go of me immediately, he wrapped one arm firmly around my back while the other hand was resting protectively over my stomach. He pulled back just enough to look at my face, his eyes scanning every detail as if memorizing me again. “Did they hurt you?” he asked. “No,” I said honestly. “But they tried to scare me.” Cassian assured me that he wouldn't give them a chance to scare me again. The safe house Cassian had prepared wasn’t extravagant and that surprised me. It was quiet, understated, tucked between tall trees and silence. Cassian helped me settle onto the couch, kneeling again to unlace my shoes gently and romantically. “You don’t have to do that,” I said gently. “I know,” he replied. “But I want to.” He said smiling and I blushed. Mary arrived shortly after, her usual composure softened by relief. “You did well,” she told me and I smiled slightly.
