JESSIE“Mom?” The older woman turned around. She had a firm face, probably from the intense skincare her wealth could buy. A maroon stain lined every inch of her lips that sat perfectly on her face. She already had a judgmental look on her face when I hadn't even heard anything. “Sit,” she commanded. I looked at Stephen. He pulled me deeper into the room, and we sat on the sofa opposite his mother. I played with my feet and wished the earth would open up and swallow me.
