CHAPTER 102 : MY LONG LOST LOVE CHARLOTTE’S POV I woke up the next morning with that same heavy feeling in my chest. You know the one, the disappointing hangover. Not the dramatic heartbreak type, just the slightly pathetic ugh-I-tried-and-the-universe-laughed-in-my-face kind.I don't like Austin? Gross what no Maya showed up at my front door before school, bouncing like she had eaten electricity for breakfast.“So?” she demanded, not even letting me put on my backpack properly. “How did it go with Austin? Did you flirt? Did he flirt? Did someone faint? Preferably him?”I shut the door behind us. “ Why didn't you ask me yesterday? And you choose now to ask me. Anyways, it was bad.”“Bad as in he murdered your pet squirrel or bad as in you panicked and said something stupid?”“No squirrels were harmed,” I muttered. “It was just bad. Period.”Maya stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. “Charlotte. What happened?”I shrugged, trying to sound casual, even though the memory stung.“I

CHAPTER 104 : CRUSH GONE WRONG CHARLOTTE’S POV My stomach dropped. Oh no. God please Maya slowly reached for her phone like she was about to open a horror movie.“Charlotte…” she whispered.“I don’t want to look,” I said.“You have to.”I swallowed and unlocked my phone. And there it was.@BridgehallGossip.New post. My fingers felt cold as I tapped it open.“BREAKING: “CHARLOTTE SEEN GETTING COZY WITH MYSTERY GUY IN CLASS??”“LOVE TRIANGLE OR REBOUND SITUATION??”There was even a blurry picture of me wearing his hoodie.I locked my phone slowly.“Wow,” Maya whispered. “They work fast.”I didn’t say anything because suddenly this wasn’t just a cute rom com movie. It was a situation and it was already getting out of control and the worst part?I didn’t hate it, that was the problem. I should’ve hated it but I didn’t.I just sat there, staring at my desk like it might give me instructions on how to survive my own life.Austin didn’t look at me again for the rest of class. He knew so

CHAPTER 106 : I'M OVER HIM CHARLOTTE’S POV I walked to my window and pulled the curtains open, pretending to admire the view like some deep, wise philosopher who had finally figured out life.Newsflash: I had not.Behind me, Maya was sprawled on my bed, watching a chaotic episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians on her phone, eating plantain chips like she owned the place.“We’ve already talked about this,” I announced loudly, mostly for myself. “I’ve cleared things with Austin. I don’t like him. He doesn’t like me. We don’t like each other. In fact—” I flipped my hair dramatically. “I never liked him at all.”Maya didn’t even look up.Just paused her video and said, “Uh-huh. Sure. Totally believable.”I glared at her and she smirked.I turned back to the window because arguing with Maya was a waste of oxygen.Nope. Not thinking about him.Not thinking about last night. Not thinking about how stupid I felt or how he said ‘I didn’t know you still liked me’ like I was a relic from t

CHAPTER 108: JEALOUS MAXCHARLOTTE’S POV It was weird how fast things could become… normal.Like somehow, after all the chaos, Austin and I had settled into something dangerously close to friendship.Keyword: dangerously. We sat together in class now.Not because of some dramatic agreement or life-changing talk.No.It just… happened. One day the teacher changed seating arrangements and suddenly there he was, dropping his bag beside my desk like it had always belonged there. And I didn’t stop him. That was the problem.“Stop staring at me,” Austin muttered without looking up from his notebook.“I’m not staring at you,” I said immediately, way too fast.He raised a brow slightly. “You’ve looked at me three times in the last ten seconds.”“I have a lazy eye,” I lied.“Both eyes are working perfectly fine, Charlotte.”I frowned and turned forward aggressively.Fine.Maybe I was looking. Not because I liked him obviously not.Just… observing. For science.Yeah.That sounded better in my

CHAPTER 110 : A NIGHT WITH MY CRUSH CHARLOTTE’S POV What the heck, Is this a dream? Am I dreaming?Because there is absolutely no logical explanation for me standing here, snow crunching under my boots, staring at Austin Reyes, while someone just announced we’re sharing a cabin. If this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up.Not ever.Like, someone cancel morning forever.I blinked once then twice. Then looked around like maybe someone would jump out and say “April Fool’s.”Nothing.Austin was still standing in front of me, waiting patiently for my response Oh no. Say something normal.Say something cool.Say something that doesn’t scream my brain has left the chat.“Sure thing, dude,” I said. The moment I said it, my soul physically left my body, looked at me, and walked away disappointed.Dude?Dude??Austin blinked slowly.“…Dude?” he repeated.I coughed. “I mean like—yeah. Cool. Let's share a cabin together”He smiled slightly. That soft smile again. The one that made my brain gl
