Rael's PovThe wagon moved for days. I lost track of how many because inside the cage it was always dark. The only light came through the bars when the sun was directly overhead and even then it was dim.They fed me once a day. Stale bread and water that tasted like dirt, i ate it anyway because I needed my strength. I needed to be ready when the chance to escape came.If it came.My wrists were bound with rope that cut into my skin. My ankles were chained together with just enough slack to shuffle but not run. Every time the wagon hit a bump I would slam against the bars and new bruises would form on top of old ones.I spent most of the time plotting. Thinking through every possible escape scenario and trying to figure out which one might actually work.The guards changed every few hours. There were always two of them walking beside the wagon. Rael's PovThe next few days followed the same pattern. Orion would summon me for meals and I would refuse. The guards would come to escort me and I would go because fighting them was pointless. We would eat in tense silence and then I would return to my room.He tried different approaches. Sometimes he was charming and told stories about the kingdom.
