CONRAD I loosened my tie as I walked in the hallway, the stress of today pressing against my chest like a sledgehammer. Gavin's words were still etched to my skull, but I didn't let that matter to me right now. I needed to focus on other things. My footsteps slowed when I saw Noah in the hallway, running towards me. His curly hair flew as he ran. He was wearing his Spiderman pajamas. “Daddy!" He squealed, approaching me. He launched himself at my legs, wrapping his small arms around my knees, giggling. I ruffled his curly hair. “Noah." Behind him, Colton approached us, his steps slow and his breath slightly uneven. He couldn't run. Old age had gotten to him quickly, despite the fact that he wasn't that old. “Evening, Mr Conrad," he greeted, folding his hands behind him. “I was trying to put him to bed, but it looks like he isn't ready yet."
