Eliza's POV I shoved the door open so hard it banged against the wall. Scott stumbled back a step. His face was pale under the hallway light. “Eliza, wait—”I didn’t wait. I pushed past him, shoulder hitting his chest. My heels clicked fast down the stairs. He followed, calling my name, voice cracking. I burst out the side door into the street. Cold air slapped my face. Streetlights buzzed overhead, turning everything yellow and sharp.I spun around. He was right behind me, coat open, breath coming in short bursts.“The accident,” I said. My voice came out low, steady. “The day we met. The rainy night. The car crash. Tell me the truth right now, Scott. Or I call the police. I call the press. I bury you in lawsuits you can’t even imagine.”He stopped. Looked at me like I had slapped him. For a long second he didn’t speak. Then his shoulders dropped.
