Lahat ng Kabanata ng Baby Bump vs Bomb: Watching Him Go Mad: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 10

As soon as I finished speaking, a wave of exhaustion washed over me.Juan Sanchez, the Famiglia Medico, hurriedly injected me with a cardiac injection. The sharp pain immediately brought me back to my senses.Juan wiped off the sweat on his forehead and said, "Ms. Cabrera, you must try to stay awake as much as you can. If you pass out now, you may never wake up again."Think about your husband and your baby. They both need you."Don also spoke up in a stern, authoritative voice, "You saved my life, and I will never forget it."When you've recovered, I will give you everything that you deserve. The child in your womb will also be my godson. "Hold on. I've already sent someone to find Fabio."I forced a small smile on my lips after hearing Don's words. However, I wasn't as naive as he thought. The warm gush of blood from between my thighs during the explosion had already told me everything I needed to know. At the very least, I knew that my baby could not be saved anymore. And

I forced myself to sit up in the hospital bed."So you want to give the child to Reina? Dream on, Fabio Lopez! Your child is already dead!"I laughed hoarsely and brokenly at that.Fabio frowned, impatience and displeasure surfacing on his face."That's enough! You still think it's not enough after breaking Ana's legs, now you're cursing your own unborn child next? How could you! Sirena Cabrera, I really think that you should spend a few days in the asylum by yourself until you finally wake up!"The last bit of warmth in my heart died, and I didn't show any expression on my face."And what right do you have to yell at me for cursing my child? The baby had already completely taken form when it died! All because you abandoned your duties, the baby lost its chance to be brought into this world!"But its biggest relief is not having to address a scoundrel like you as its father!""It's dead?" Fabio exclaimed in shock and disbelief as he stared at my belly. "That's impossible. Your

Don watched Fabio and Reina hurling the blame at each other with disgust in his eyes.He withdrew his gun and beckoned to his men.A few burly Soldati immediately rushed in and grabbed Fabio and Reina, yanking them to their feet like they were nothing."Take them into the interrogation room. I'm going to interrogate them myself."Don then walked to the door, paused, and turned to look back at me."Sirena Cabrera, you are the Consigliere, so I will give you the authority to handle this. You will determine their fate once you've recovered enough from your injuries."I watched as Fabio and Reina were dragged away, realizing that I didn't feel pleased or victorious as I thought I would. My child was dead. Not even killing them could ever bring my child back to life.I worked with the doctors over the next few days for my treatment, and Don would come and visit me every day.He brought me news, saying that the terrorist attack that day hadn't been a coincidence. Rather, the enemies

I turned to the two Soldati standing at the doorway, waiting for my orders. They were the people that La Famiglia specifically appointed to handle "trash", and they wore black masks on their faces while holding a heavy tool box in their hands."Send Fabio and Reina to the sulphur mines in the south of Sicil City."Fabio and Reina both gasped loudly as soon as they heard me mention the sulphur mines.Only disgraced Mafioso who had committed terrible crimes and gamblers unable to repay their debts were sent to the sulphur mines to work. That place was a true hell on earth, with high temperatures, toxic fumes, and endless, relentless, hard labor."No! Sirena, you can't do this to me! I am your husband!" Fabio screamed in despair."Ex-husband," I said, correcting him. "Also, since Ms. Digiorno loves acting so much, I'm sure that she will thoroughly enjoy putting on a good show in the sulphur mines. I believe that the workers there would be thrilled to have such a beautiful woman enter

Six months later, the Sicil City sun was still as blinding as ever.I stood before a fresh tombstone in the Famiglia cemetery in a long, black velvet dress. There wasn't a name engraved into the tombstone. Instead, there was just a line of words there."For the angel I never met."I set down a bouquet of white lilies before the tombstone, tracing the cold marble with my fingers. The hole in my heart hadn't fully healed, but at least it wasn't bleeding anymore.Time healed all wounds.Steady footsteps sounded behind me. I knew who it was without having to turn around to look.A warm suit jacket was draped over my shoulders."It's a little windy out here," Don Romero said, his voice coming from above my head.I pulled the jacket smelling familiarly of cigars closer around me. The scent was soothing and comforting, making me feel relaxed."There's news from the sulphur mines," he said, handing me a document in a voice as calm as if he were just talking about the weather.I flip
