LIORAMost of the hours of last night, I spent them going through all the evidence Price gave me. I was still shocked by the entire thing, and I also hadn't come to a decision. I didn't know if I wanted to use this to get Everett back or if I even wanted him to see this. I removed whatever doubt i had. Atleast for Price's sake this needed to be done. Diella is a terrible person, and she needed to get what was coming to her. And also there was no way I was letting Everett marry a woman like that. Even though we were no longer together, he did not deserve to be with that evil bitch.Price mentioned that the engagement party would be held tomorrow. With the help of the internet, I quickly found the venue where the engagement party would be held. It was one of those big suite hotels. Classy, of course, but it seemed like Diella was the one who picked this particular spot. Anyways, it didn't matter. What mattered was that I was planning on crashing that engagement party. I spent the e

EVERETT"Um, why are you showing me this? Is this why you invited me over? What is this picture about?" she asked, her voice pitching higher with forced innocence.I leaned back, interlocking my fingers in front of me, my jaw tight with barely contained anger and a growing sense of betrayal."You tell me, Diella. What do you think the photos are about?" I asked, my tone low and edged with steel. She forced a fake smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about, Everett," she said, still going with her lie. She sure was relentless, her fingers twitching slightly on the edge of the table as if grasping for control."You're asking me what that is? Since you're pretending not to know, it's evidence against you. Evidence to prove that you've been spying on Liora for the past four months. And also evidence to prove that you knew about illegal activities Mr. Bellamy was carrying out and you covered them in order to use them to blackmail him. Do you understand w

~LIORA“Are you serious?” I asked, stunned. She nodded. “I know you don’t want to see the man, but you won’t be going because you forgive him. I think it’s a way of getting closure for yourself.”I fell silent, turning her words over in my mind. For years I had carried this heavy burden. Maybe seeing him really would give me some kind of peace. “I should at least call the law firm back.”“Great idea,” Emily said with a grin, stuffing another bite of pie into her mouth.I let out a light chuckle and took a sip of my coffee.By the time we said our goodbyes and I left the café, I felt slightly lighter than when I had left the house.Getting back to my apartment, I dropped my bag on the couch and let out a tired breath. Almost immediately, my phone started ringing again. I reached into my bag and pulled it out. When I saw the unknown number, my lips pressed into a thin line. Still, I answered.“Hello?”“Good evening. Is this Miss Jovan’s line?” a professional male voice asked.“Ye

~LIORA“What?” I froze from where I sat. “The merger fell?”Flynn nodded as he ate the piece of chocolate in his hand. “Just call him, okay? I’m certain he has been trying to call you this entire time, and knowing you, you probably blocked his line.”I frowned. “No, I didn’t,” I paused, finally recalling that I did block him the day I left the hospital. “Oh no, I blocked him.” I facepalmed, embarrassed by my silliness. Here I was waiting for his call, when he had no way of reaching me and probably thought I changed numbers. I even blocked Margaret’s too. “You forgot you blocked him, didn’t you?” Flynn asked, and all I could do was nod. “Jeez, Liora. I know I’m not the best person to be taking advice from, but I think you should call him or text. You shouldn’t lose someone who loves you over a misunderstanding. At least that’s what I think the problem is between you two. Unless I’m completely wrong.”“I’ll unblock him,” I simply responded, not wanting to delve deeper into what

~DIELLA The thin metal pick slipped into the keyhole with practiced ease. I twisted it slowly, listening carefully to the tiny clicks echoing from inside the lock. One pin... then another. I adjusted them carefully, applying just enough pressure until I heard another soft click.A bright smile tugged at my lips.Straightening up, I wrapped my hand around the doorknob and gently pushed the door open, making sure not to make even the slightest sound. The apartment was mostly dark and silent, with only the pale moonlight filtering through the partially drawn curtains, illuminating the place just enough for me to see where I was stepping.I carefully slipped inside, making sure my shoes didn't produce even the slightest creak against the floor. My eyes wandered around the apartment before settling on the only door I assumed led to the bedroom. Slowly, I nudged it open, the door already slightly ajar. When I peeked inside, I found her exactly where I was expecting her to be.Liora lay
