Valerie's POV: I ducked as a rustling sound comes and distracts me. "What is that?" Evan growled, sensing danger. "It is them. We don't have a choice now. We need to fight." Chapter 144 Valerie's POV Waking up, I could feel movement and hear voices around me. Last night, I couldn't sleep watching over him. He would occasionally move and groan as if he is in pain. His face twists ever so often as if he is, and I keep watch. Grandma Iris has helped heal most of his wounds. They have closed up now and all he needed to do was rest. That gave me much relief and before I had the chance to talk to Grandma Iris, she is gone, leaving me in this little cottage that must have served as her home in years.
