Chapter 81

Rafael’s POV My ears were not deceiving me, Lacy had said ‘Our kids!’ What the fuck did that mean? “Are you just going to stand there?” she yelled. My eyes narrowed further. It was as if Lacy was completely insane, unlike her normal cautious and careful self, right now, she seemed to not realize who she was yelling at. Our kids. That was still giving me pause and confusing me. I sneered in her face and spoke through clenched teeth, “I will take care of it.” I didn’t know why I felt the overpowering urge to appease her, that was not normal. I thought about pulling her in for a hug but something in those eyes warned me that it would be a costly mistake. She was still fuming but she had stopped talking, her body shuddered and her hands were trembling but the fire hadn’t left her eyes. “I will handle it.” I repeated more definitively. I walked away from Lacy feeling like I had just got shouted at by my mom. It stung and I hated it. If what Lacy said was true and Rosa had s

Chapter 82

Rafael’s POV “My goodness, you are so, so unbelievable. Was that why you came in here all fired up?” it was Rosa’s turn to press the offensive. I exhaled deeply and stared down at the stairs. Could Rosa really be capable of such? It was one thing to lie to me about being the chosen one but orchestrating an attack and carrying it out under my nose, could she? But if it wasn’t her, then who? Nothing else made sense. “You are sleeping with her, aren’t you?” she pressed on, her voice getting louder and bitter. I shot her a warning look, “Careful Rosa…” My voice was dangerously low. Rosa stiffened and hesitated, “Then why? Why are you so concerned about her?” “Lacy is a member of my pack. I would show the same level of concern to anyone,” I defended. “Bullshit!” I stared at her, “Excuse me?” “Send her packing, alpha, send her and her kids away. They have been nothing but trouble since they came,” her voice had shifted to be endearing. “And prove to Blaine that I am scared of hi

Chapter 83

Blaine’s POV“What?” I yelled, sounding as surprised as possible.“When?”I listened for a while and then nodded before speaking into the receiver, “Listen to me, Lacy, you and the kids hang tight, I will be there soon.”As soon as I ended the call, I frowned and tossed my phone unto the table, “Idiots,” I muttered under my breath.Megan appeared out of nowhere, “My lord, you have some visitors.”I beckoned on them to come in with a hand gesture. She nodded and left the sitting room. Not long after that, two men stormed into my living room and stood facing me.“Gentlemen, where are the prizes?” I asked. The leader of the two frowned, “The entire mission was a bust.”I scoffed, “You don’t say.”“I lost three good men today!” he continued to rant.I looked at him and then past him, “You don’t seem at all remorseful for your failure.”He scoffed, “My failure? We were given shoddy information, told that it would only be a driver and three kids.”“And one extra woman was enough to make fiv

Chapter 84

Rafael’s POVOf course, Blaine knew. It was too much for me to wish that the information hadn’t reached him yet. Of course, Lacy would have called him and informed him of what happened to her and the kids, his kids.Lacy’s voice and words came floating back into my mind, “They came for our kids!”Did she mean hers and mine or hers and Blaine’s? I was confused. I pushed the thought out of my head. Now was not the time for that.“The situation is under control,” I said to him.“Lacy has to fight her heart out to keep her kids away from danger while on your watch. Is that what you call under control?” his voice rose up a bit, and items in the room rattled.“You don’t come into my house and raise your voice at me,” I said.“I do whatever the fuck I please, where I please!” his voice rose even higher, causing more items to rattle.“Alpha Blaine, you need to calm down,” Rosa said from the door way.I shot her a sharp look, a warning look which she disregarded and walked into the study to

Chapter 85

Lacy’s POV“Are you sure about this?” I asked in a trembling voice.Blaine nodded confidently from the sofa adjacent me.I exhaled deeply.Never in a million years did I imagine that I would be having this conversation with my kids now.How did I even go about it? I didn’t have the words.“It is going to be okay, Lacy, I am here.” Blaine’s reassuring words were enough to calm my nerves, what would I have done without him?“I’ll go wake them.”Few minutes later all five of us were in the living room and there was an uncomfortable silence brewing. The kids were seating opposite me and staring at my face for answers and Blaine was sitting across from me, legs crossed and expression neutral.I knew he was waiting for me to start. I just didn’t know how to. “Mom, what is going on?” Andy finally asked.“Yeah mom, who were those guys? What did they want with me?” Mandy followed up. She pouted her lips and I could see that the fear had returned to her face.“What were they?” Cass finally sp

Chapter 86

Rafael’s POVThat son of a bitch of unknown cursed origins had just walked into my study and given me a fucking ultimatum. This was Rosa’s fault, if she would have kept her fucking mouth closed, maybe the situation would not have escalated like that.“Who the fuck does he think he is?” I snarled.Rosa shot me a quick look, “How could you just let him talk to me like that?”I turned viciously to lock gaze with her, “What?”“I am your Luna for crying out loud, how could you let him disrespect me like that?” she sniffled.I stared at the woman before me.The blonde hair and deathly pale skin held zero appeal for me at this particular moment.“Thank your stars you hold that title for now. I would have separated your head from your body for the stunt you pulled!”She gasped in disbelief and stared at me.I walked past her and exited the study.“Shit!” I muttered under my breath. This attack on Lacy had fucked everything up and given Blaine a good reason to be on my ass. I needed to move sw

Chapter 87

Lacy’s POVHis expression was still calm, “Why are you so interested in protecting the image of the man who wants you dead?”I gasped and stared at Blaine, “What?”He arched an eyebrow, a questioning look still on his face.“Alpha Rafael is not the one who wants me dead,” I said in his defense.I didn’t know why I reacted that way but I felt the overpowering urge to defend him, “It is Rosa, she is the problem.”He scoffed, “Don’t be naïve, Lacy. Do you really think a luna can make a move with the blessing of her alpha?”I shook my head, “No, no, you don’t know Rosa like I do. Trust me, this is all on her.”“Wake up, Lacy!” he snapped. “How can you not see it yet?”“See what?” I spread my hands out, “What are you talking about?”“You think it is a coincidence that you and your KIDS…” he stressed, “Were attacked so close to the alliance meeting?”I frowned.“Rafael thinks he is going to win. That is why he is making all these bold moves, not minding what I can do about it, don’t you see

Chapter 88

Rafael’s POVThe meeting with alpha Harden went better than I could have ever anticipated. Finally, I had the upper hand, all that was left was to keep a low profile until the day of the alliance meeting and finally, this nightmare with Blaine would be over.Because of how quickly the meeting wrapped up, I returned back to the pack in record time.“I need you to explain yourself,” Ted voice roared.I told the driver to hit the brakes and then wound down the back window.Over in the distance, near the parking garage, Ted was having a confrontation with a tall, lanky man – there was no doubt in my mind that it was Mike Flamez.I got out of the car and began to approach the arguing men on foot.“I have nothing to say to the likes of you,” Mike retorted with a smug and defiant look on his face.Ted sneered and came closer, “What did you just say?”Mike’s hands went behind his long trench coat.I could intuitively feel it, he was reaching for a weapon – a fight was about to break out.Non

Chapter 89

Lacy’s POV“I do not like to repeat myself, tell me what you want!” Baron Steel demanded.“Nothing,” I said and folded my arms.“Nonsense!” he exclaimed, “You expect me to believe that?”“Believe what you want. Frankly, I don’t care.” I paused for a while, “If I am being completely honest, I do want something.”“There we go…”“But not in the way you think,” I said, cutting him off.His gaze narrowed, “Out with it.”“I am the type of person that can prevent problems for you before you are even aware of them, that is what I am good at and two, it is in my private interest to ensure that Mr. Jackman don’t get the deal.”He studied me for a while, his gaze hard and calculating.I stood still and took a deep breath. In the face of the fierce gaze of monsters like alpha Rafael and his beta, Ted, Mr. Steel’s gaze was nothing.“I like you,” he said at last. “Lacy, right?”I nodded. He slid the photos back into the envelope, “I will be in touch.”I gave a small smile, bowed courteously, and th

Chapter 90

Lacy’s POV“Wh-,” I felt myself stutter and shudder.“Shuu-” he placed his right index finger on my lips and pressed it shut.He was touching me.Electricity ran through my face, and I stiffened and fought back a moan.“No one tells me what to do – Get it?”I wanted to say I did, but his finger was still pressed against my lips.He slid it down slowly, and when it crossed my upper lips, he let it linger on my lower lips, pulling it apart a little. It was like being shocked repeatedly. I just stood still shuddering as spasms hit me back to front.I could not even explain what was happening and things that I thought I would never feel again began to creep up.My nipples got very erect, and I felt goosebumps all over my body. Our gazes were locked, and there was something devious dancing in his eyes.I took a step back and was almost sorry that I did.It was like whiplash. The sudden surge and regression of erotic feelings in me made me dizzy.I staggered and held onto the wall to balanc
