Eric’s POV The forest was alive with chaos. Smoke curled from scorched underbrush, the coppery scent of blood thick in the air. The rogues had returned in greater numbers than before, moving with strategy and intent. Every fiber of my body screamed danger. My wolf coiled beneath my skin, alert, ready. Beside me, Cora crouched, muscles taut, wolf vibrating just beneath her skin. Hannah mirrored her, small but lethal, energy bright and dangerous. Both of them were a force, unstoppable and fearless. “Stay close,” I murmured to Cora, my hand brushing hers. “Watch each other.” Her blue eyes met mine, fierce and sharp. “We’ve got this,” she said, wolf humming beneath her skin, ready to spring. The Lincoln warriors had formed the center line; Frostbite flank left and right. The rogues surged forward, fangs bared, claws flashing, and I could see their leader, a massive scarred wolf, pushing from the front, rallying his pack.
