AVA DUVAL The afternoon was hot. I could feel the steam pouring from my body as hot sweat trickled down my face. Ethan was at his usual afternoon training with the rest of the guards while I sat at my desk, my laptop open. Kyle and I were going for another date father had set which I needed to get an entirely new outfit. I groaned, wiping the sweat from my face. This was mentally draining. A fluffy pink dress. A waist tight red dress that revealed my entire cleavage…“I should take a cool shower.”Pushing the chair back, I stepped out walking to the tall mirror that stood beautifully on the wall showing my full length. Just then, my eyes caught the bright pink scar on my neck, still fresh from the other night. My fingers trailed the wound. Painful, yet sensually pleasing. Last night, Ethan had pulled me to him slamming his lips on mine.A soft smile traced my lips as I stripped off my gown. His fingers had dug into me pricking my skin and his teeth nibbled at my neck.

AVA DUVAL My belly felt hollow; the growling sound snapped me back to reality. I had stayed cooped up in my room throughout the day while father and Kyle were out for some business discussion.“Fuck this,” I groaned holding my belly. I stood to my feet, pushing my laptop away further onto the desk. Ethan hadn't shown up in my room. That's when it hit me, the cook was out of town. My lips tilted into a small smile as I headed down to the kitchen. A sweet but spicy smell wafted through the room, making my stomach growl all the more. “This is embarrassing,” I muttered while marching into the kitchen. Ethan stood near the cooker, sweat dripping from his face. His lashes fluttered, eyes flickering as he flipped the pan. His veins stretched along his arms, muscles flexing in the heat. The steam filled the room, causing my teeth to press hard on my lip.“Nikolai can do more than fighting,” I teased, moving to the fridge to take a carton of milk. I gulped it down, dropping the carton

ETHAN COLE When the news broke, it set everything on fire. The Internet was ablaze about the illegal human experiment. The police had cuffed him, while reporters swarmed the Duval estate. The smirk on my face widened as the cameras flashed, mics shoving into Kyle's face. He looked distraught, like this was a dream. How could he? A man who had given everything to his establishment be treated like filth? That was why when he turned to the crowd for the last time, his eyes widened as we locked eyes. The devious grin on my face. It was enough to tell him who had caused this. “The files said the effects of your failed trials were hallucinations, paralysis and skin damage, how true is that?” One reporter pushed her mic to his face, almost hitting it. Kyle said nothing, his pupils dilated, shaking like he was innocent. I could see his body tremble, the heat rising to his face as the sweat dropped. He had planned to make the Duvals his allies, but here he was being led by the poli

ETHAN COLE Ava clasped her hand tightly against mine, nails digging into it. This was a first for her. Madam Leigh pulled out her gun while all the doors slammed shut.“Everyone would go unharmed when I find the bastard who butchered my daughter!” She raved, veins pulsing from her temples. The crowd murmured, cramping against each other. Servants dragged in a blood-soaked bag and tossed it at the center of the hall. Everyone let out a gasp. Ava jerked, pulling me closer. I could feel her trembling body on me. The girl’s head rolled free, eyes fixed on nothing.Limbs arranged too neatly. Joint from joint. Like a doll someone had taken apart… and put back wrong. My eyes squinted at the body parts, the markings, the insane butchering. The precision of each cut. It all looked so familiar. The man had the efficiency of a surgeon, and although he worked mostly with a gun or stayed quietly behind the screen… he was far too dangerous. My eyes scurried through the body once mo

AVA DUVAL My lips brushed his neck, a low growl escaping his mouth. My tongue slid past his adam's apple, then I sucked it hard. Another groan. I let my legs stay wrapped around his waist, while my teeth nibbled at his nape. “Sweet-” “I’m the one who decides whether you live or die.” I hushed him, my voice almost a whisper. My body grew warm the more my teeth scraped his neck. He smelled heavenly, it intoxicated me. This was one of the only times I got to decide who to kill or not. He was at my mercy and the burning passion in me was hatred — something I had long accepted. This passionate hate was so consuming, it fueled me. I kissed him again, my body arching forward, so he landed on the grass while I stayed on top. My heart raced with excitement. Ethan was letting me have my way with his body. To lose myself in endless lust or… kill him with his own bullet. I dragged him by the tie, smashing my lips against his. He didn't hesitate. I took his lower lip between
