_Aurora’s POV_My grip on thr files tightened as we walked passed people, heading to the elevator. My fave was tear streaked and people kept looking at m as we walked by.Damien walked beside me and keot my gazeforward, afraid to meet his gaze, even though I wanted to. I wanted to look and find reassurance. I wanted to see some hint of understanding, some acknowledgment that I hadn’t lost my composure entirely, that I hadn’t been completely broken in front of everyone. This was the first time I was getting that kind of feeling from Damien and I knew it wasn't going to last. My stomach twisted with nerves. My chest felt tight. My hands shook despite holding the files with a vice grip. I knew I looked like a disaster.“Are you alright?” Damien’s voice finally broke the silence, calm but firm, cutting through the chaos of my thoughts.I flinched at the sound, realizing he was speaking to me. I wanted to lie. I wanted to say yes. I wanted to pretend that Marcos’ words hadn’t stung, and

_Aurora’s POV_I moved through the room with Damien at my side, smiling politely and nodding at people, exchanging a few words here and there. Glasses clinked, laughter floated over soft music, and for a few fleeting moments, I felt like I belonged. I wasn’t just the heiress or the assistant everyone expected me to be—I was… something more. Confident. Present. Capable.Damien introduced me to a few executives, and I shook hands, joked lightly, and for once, felt that spark of control that Marcos had always tried to undermine. He was here, silent, observing, his presence steady at my back, but he didn’t speak over me, didn’t push me down. And that gave me room to shine.I laughed at a witty remark someone made, and for a heartbeat, I allowed myself to enjoy it. I allowed myself to feel like I wasn’t fragile, like the girl who had crumpled over papers and humiliation in the office a few days ago didn’t exist. But all good things demand a pause.“I need to excuse myself,” I murmured to D

Damien’s POVIt was becoming a problem. Not the kind of problem that could be solved with strategy, negotiation, or authority. The kind of problem that grew quietly, day after day, until it sat in your chest like a living thing.Aurora.I stood by the window in my office long after the building had gone quiet, my hands in my pockets, my gaze fixed on the city lights below, yet my mind was nowhere near the world outside.Every day, it got harder.Harder to ignore the way she walked into a room with her head held high, even when she was trembling inside.Harder to ignore the way she carried herself with that strange mix of pride and vulnerability, like she didn’t know whether to fight or surrender, yet refused to bow either way.Harder to ignore the way she looked at me.Not like the others did.Not with admiration. Not with fear. Not with calculation. She looked at me like she was trying to understand me.And that was dangerous. She was untouchable. That was the truth I reminded myself

Damien’s POV_ Each day made it harder than the last. Harder to ignore her, harder to pretend she was just another employee, and even harder to stop myself from bending her over my knees and punishing her. Aurora. Her name alone felt like a problem I didn’t want to solve. Each time she got mouthy, I had to force myself to remember that she was my best friend’s daughter. That fact should have been enough to make me stop thinking about her; it should have made her untouchable. But it didn’t. And that was a problem. I watched her most times without even meaning to, The way she walked, talked. She was always quick to bite back. And the fact that she was a brat. I was dying to teach her a lesson. Her sassiness when she clapped back made me think of what else her mouth could do. And it made my pants tighten. She was exactly like her father had described, stubborn and hard to control. And I knew she was going to be so much fun to break. And that’s what made it hot. She knew exac

_Aurora’s POV_I sat with my bag placed on my lap, fingers woven tightly together.Damien was still leaned against the table, phone in hand. The silence stretched between us.Should I anything? Or not. I didn’t want to strike up a conversation between us but the silence was maddening. The emergency light hummed softly from above us, casting a soft glow in the room,I was awfully aware that it was just us both in the room alone, and I tried to distract myself.“So,” I muttered, folding my arms. “Do we just.. wait?”At this point, it seemed like that was exactly what we were doing, but the silence made it unbearable to sit quietly.Damien’s eyes snapped to me, his gaze burning into me.“Seems like it.”I averted my gaze once more.We were here alone.. at night.. with no one to interrupt. My mind wandered to places it shouldn’t be.I couldn’t help but be reminded of the wet dream I had days back. You know, getting fucked on an office table has been one of my fantasies. But I don't thi
