EDEN The drive home from the hospital is extremely quiet. Hayden sits in the passenger seat with me, his head resting on my shoulder while his driver takes the wheel. When we pull into the garage, the automatic lights flash on, bathing everything in soft gold. The driver kills the engine, and we sit there for a second, listening to the tick of the cooling car and the faint rasp of Hayden's breathing. Hayden moves first, slowly.
