Silence returned as I finally got the peace and quiet I needed. Then I let myself sink back into the bed, the world around me fading as sleep finally took over.When I opened my eyes again, I was no longer in the hospital. I was back in my calm place. Everything felt soft, quiet and still just as I liked it.My head rested on Serenity’s lap, just like before. Her fingers moved slowly through my hair, gently and calmly, grounding me in a way nothing else could. But something felt off.I felt weak and heavy.
