Lahat ng Kabanata ng Logan: Alpha Alliance Book I: Kabanata 101 - Kabanata 110

Emory--I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing right now. I won the battle of the shareholders meeting, kind of, and now I'm sipping sparkling water in a plush chair next to Anna’s desk, trying not to scratch at my suddenly too-tight skin. I should have asked Logan if she's a werewolf– wolf shifter, sorry– or if she's in on the secret as a human. If she doesn't know, I'm seriously impressed. She seems like the type who would know everyone's secrets no matter what. I wonder if I could figure out what she knows without tipping her off…?“So how long have you worked as Logan's PA?” She gives me a quick glance over her glasses, heavy on disapproval. “Logan and I have been working together for six years now. Would you like my resume next?” Okay, so that was touchy, for some reason. I laugh a little nervously. “No, of course not. Do you, uh, like it?” She shoots me more side eye. “Until now, it's been very stable. I've enjoyed the challenge of balancing all of Logan's responsibilit

Cora--For all the effort I wasted on that man, Tommon ended up being useless as my attorney. He spent the whole night whining about how he wouldn’t make partner if he had too many hours ‘pro boner.’ Obviously, he thinks he’s hilarious– his type always does. He also doesn’t think I have a case and should make a plea deal, like I haven’t uncovered the story of a century. I’ve been vacillating between getting a cheaper attorney that I know won’t win my case for me and manipulating what I know of Logan and Emory to drop the charges. I’m leaning heavily on the side of the latter, because I’ve been suspended from Hot Tea, of all places. I was the best damned writer they’ve ever had. They know it, too. My editor claimed that was the only reason I still technically have a job. I know he’s in hot water, too, though, for assuming I had a release form from Emory when I didn’t. I could forge one… I’ll have to see if I can find anything with her signature on it. That would be a handy little tool

Emory--“Deek, did your older brother not want to be Alpha? I’m sorry if it’s rude to ask, but I feel like I’m missing something.” He shoots me a kind smile before he nods and explains. “Art was always more intellectual than me, less naturally dominant. He felt like his talents would be more useful in learning about and keeping track of the history of wolves as a whole.” The men watch me absorb the information before Derek continues. I guess it’s just as new to them to have a fresh perspective as it is for me to learn they exist at all. “He’s actually been researching fated mate bonds for us while you and Logan were… “ Deek pauses to smirk. “Figuring things out. He said the proximity issue should go away with the full moon ceremony, but that there were rumors of telepathy or some crap. He thinks it’s a metaphor for emotional closeness. I guess you all will find out for us! How does it feel to pave the way, Logan? Do you feel sparkly special yet?” Ollie rolls his eyes but laughs at D

Emory--I have no idea why we had to schedule everything stressful for one day. I'm not built for a sustained freakout like I've been fighting off all day. There's too many important things I could screw up. I made it through Logan’s morning at work and meeting his friends and it all turned out okay. I can think of ways things could have gone better, of course, but I’m satisfied with avoiding disaster. I've managed to keep my expectations low enough that I can actually achieve them. Nobody got in a fight or threw me out of the building, so today has been a success so far. All I have left to be nervous about getting through now is Logan introducing me to the pack elders. We’ll have to talk to them about cluing in my family and about Cora, but after that it should just be a meet and greet. Logan seems to think of them as sweet old people that tend to have good advice. I’m having trouble picturing “sweet, old” wolf shifters. I should have thought about the fact that shifters get old li

Logan--I can’t believe I haven’t even thought about our lifespans. I had a whole month where all I could do was think about our potential life together, and Emory hit on one of the main issues in the first couple of days. Now that we have all these questions, I’m more than grateful for this meeting with the elders. I told Emory we could have up to ten elders on the council at any one time, but right now we only have six that consistently show up to meetings. A few of the younger ones are content with my decisions most of the time and they don’t feel the need to provide oversight. Of the six, there are only two that ever create friction in the meetings. Ethel, Blanche, and Nanette are here almost entirely for the gossip. They love knowing what’s going on with everyone before the rest of the pack knows. They’re busybodies, but only in the most benign way. Orson is the oldest member of our pack right now, and he knows that I rely on his wisdom and experience. He’s actually a member of
