It felt like time didn’t exist here in the Veil Order…atleast not in a way that Serena could understand.There was no sunrise to mark the beginning of the day and no sunset to signal an end to it. The skies just felt blank and dry…Serena on the first few days here tried her best to understand it, but now almost a week, she has given up on that and accepted her new routine of life here:The corridor was cold under her bare feet, her rage for clothes hung loosely on her frame…thin, worn fabric that barely did its job. Was this truly her life now? No more good people, surrounded by familiar people.No more home…no more Damein.She pushed the thought away quickly.They walked in a line, four of them here:A boy, maybe her age or slightly younger. He was quite timid and more to himself.Then, an older woman is around mid age.And another girl, around my age, tops.They never really spoke to each other.They just moved when told and stopped when told.They entered a wider chamber.Food.

Prince continued to watch his father train from the shadows, now he wasn’t only just biding his time to plant the powder, but along the way learning some of his moves..Killing two birds with a stone.A small wooden table sat off to the side of the clearing. A simple setup…water, a cup, nothing more. Ragnar moved toward it briefly, lifting the cup and taking a long drink before setting it back down and returning to his training in less than half a minute.Predictable.That was all Prince needed.He made sure Ragnar had returned to training before slipping out.He reached the table in seconds, his hand already slipping into the inner fold of his clothing and pulling out the powder.He opened the cup slowly and tipped it into the cup.It dissolved instantly and without a trace.Prince picked up the cup briefly, swirling the contents just enough to ensure it blended completely, then set it back exactly where it had been.It was done.He stepped back into the shadows just as Ragnar approa

The air in the war room of the Death Valley Pack was thick with tension.Whenever an Alpha summoned his top subjects here, it meant one thing..War was on the door.Around the table sat the highest-ranking members of Death Valley..the elders, the warlord, and a handful of elite warriors who were dimmed the most loyal.They were waiting for him..Not Ragnar, no…the new Alpha.Prince.The first few months of his reign was noticeable among all. He was fast in his decisions and actions. The first thing he did was lock up his father for his supposed treachery. Then he took out smaller packs like Grim Lord Pack and Astray Pack, took the warriors and built his own army.The door of the room pushed open and all eyes snapped to it.Prince walked in, barely acknowledging anyone else.Then he took his seat at the head of the table. The cycle of life at the Veil order continued…Wake.Move.Eat.Sit.Listen.Repeat.Serena had soon accepted this as her life for the foreseeable future.The first few weeks or whatever, she didn’t know anymore, she had hoped. Maybe Damein was searching for her. Maybe it was just a matter of time before she was found.But as time grew on, the truth settled that no one was coming and it was best she did what was required of her.She sat on the cold floor of the common hall, her back resting lightly against the wall, her eyes fixed somewhere ahead without really seeing anything. Around her, a few others lingered in the same quiet existence. Some stared blankly like her. Others muttered to themselves under their breath and even a few still had their fear in their eyes..Gosh..that really used to be her.The fear, the rage and the need to resist.Now..nothing.She wasn’t happy or angry, she just didn’t care anymore.A bowl was set down beside her.She didn’t look at who placed it there.
