Rydan’s POV I kept my voice low enough that only he could hear it. “Her forehead,” I said, leaning slightly toward Franklin without moving my feet. “There’s a mark on it. Red, circular, deliberate. I’ve seen markings like it before.” Franklin didn’t look at her immediately. He had learned that from weeks of this… the discipline of not directing your attention at something until you knew what you wanted to do with the attention. He shifted slightly, adjusting the strap of his bag, and in the motion got a look at her without making the look the point. His hand found mine. She had already started moving.
