"Alpha Kane," she said after a few seconds had passed. Her voice was calm, clear, and laced with a subtle harmonic vibration that made the water in the glass cups on the table ripple. "I believe you're sitting in my husband's seat." She said to him. Kane blinked. The sheer audacity stunned him for a second before he regained his composure. "Husband?" Kane repeated as if he could not believe his ears, as he turned to look at Alex. "You married the human?" He asked him. "Mated," Alex corrected, his voice low and dangerous.
