The fairy lights were still on from last night, one bulb blinking like it was tired too. The blanket tent we built for Bennett Maldives was half collapsed over us. The paper with HONEYMOON RULES was still taped to the door, slightly crooked.Nico pulled the blanket over his head. His voice was muffled."Five more minutes. Maldives doesn't have alarms."I kicked his foot under the blanket. "Maldives has rent. And rent needs work. And work needs us awake."He peeked out, hair messy, eyes still half closed. Now they gave key. Maybe they want me to find rest of money and bring to them. Maybe 17 is where $80,000 is.""Or maybe 17 is where your cousin hid before he disappeared."We sat on the floor where the tent used to be. Backpack empty. Pasta plates still there from yesterday. Door locked double. Blinds closed. Outside, street quiet. No SUV now. But we both kept looking at balcony. At 1:00 AM I said, "We should go to my dad now. Tonight."Nico shook his head. "Your dad works day shift. If we

Rich enough for toast."He put key 17 in drawer. "Your dad texted at 7:30 AM. Locker 19. He said come at 9 AM."Locker 19. The one manager said was rented by M. Bennett last year.
