Chapter Forty-TwoMelody’s POV I know it’s silly, childish really, but when I was a child and Alpha Luther and Luna Raine sat me down and told me my parents had both been killed defending the pack from rogues, I had this image in my head of a wild looking, rabid beast with a foaming mouth and evil red eyes, huge teeth and scraggly fur. My mother shouldn’t have even been in harm’s way. She never had any formal training, only what my dad had taught her, some simple self defence techniques. That day when she ran to the border with his lunch, leaving me at the pack house with Arthur and his parents, was the last day I ever saw them.This rogue... he looks nothing like the nightmare my imagination conjured up.
